How to Equip Your MLB Avatar Gear
Once you successfully redeem the code, the item will automatically drop into your in-game inventory. To put it on:
- Open Pokémon GO and tap your Trainer profile icon in the bottom left corner.
- Tap the Style button.
- Go to the Tops category.
- You will see the MLB T-Shirt as the first one. If not, scroll through your available shirts to find the newly unlocked MLB-branded T-shirt.
- Select it to equip it.

Timed Research: Keep an eye on your “Today” view in-game. Throughout the MLB season, special timed research tasks will appear, giving you challenges tied to baseball themes—like catching a certain number of Great Throw variations. Completing these tasks will reward you with exclusive Pokémon encounters, XP, regular Lure Modules, Stardust, PokéBalls, and more. Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available from spinning PokéStops within the ballpark.
Special Raid Battles: Select local stadiums and nearby areas will host unique raid battles. If you participate in these specific raids, you will have a chance to catch featured Pokémon that come with exclusive Location Backgrounds, making them rare collector’s items. Pikachu is the featured Pokémon in One-Star Raids.
Physical Merchandise: If you are heading out to a ballpark this summer, you might be able to snag some real-world gear. Pokémon GO-branded and MLB club-branded merchandise will be available at select stadiums. Check your local MLB team’s official website and special ticket package pages to see if your ballpark is participating.
- Lure Module Bonus: Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract Abra, Machop, Cubone, and more in the ballpark at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules. If you’re lucky, you might encounter Snorlax or Passimian. These encounters might be shiny if you’re lucky.

- Stock Up on Premium Raid Passes: Since the featured Pokémon at select ballparks will carry exclusive Location Backgrounds, you may want to run multiple raids to hunt for high IVs or a shiny variant.
- Clear Your Pokémon Storage: There is nothing worse than clicking on a rare stadium spawn only to realize your storage is completely full. Clear out at least 50 to 100 slots before heading near a venue.
- Manage Your Item Bag Space: The special timed research will reward extra Poké Balls and Stardust, but you still need enough space in your inventory to claim them. Spin local PokéStops around the ballpark early to build up your supply of Razz Berries and Golden Razz Berries to make catching the event Pokémon easier.
