Minior Showers are coming to Pokémon GO. Get ready to look up at the night sky, Trainers! A cosmic event of stellar proportions is heading your way. Minior, the Meteor Pokémon, is officially making its long-awaited debut in Pokémon GO!
Known for its unique dual-form nature and vibrant multi-colored cores, this celestial creature is about to shake up how you approach battles and exploration.
The introduction of Minior brings an exciting mechanic to the game, complete with seasonal meteor shower events, increased stardust rewards, and a brand-new way to battle. Let’s dive into everything you need to know to prepare for the Minior Showers.
Seven Core Colors to Collect
Minior is unlike anything we’ve seen before in Pokémon GO. Its body consists of a hard outer shell (Meteor Form) protecting a delicate, colorful core. In fact, Minior cores come in seven different colors: Red Core, Orange Core, Yellow Core, Green Core, Blue Core, Indigo Core, and Violet Core – just like the Rainbow colors.
When catching Minior during these special Minior Showers windows, not only mayyou encounter them in their Meteor Form in the wild, but you will also receive increased Stardust for every successful catch!
Annual Meteor Showers Schedule & Regional Debuts
Minior Showers will be tied to major real-world meteor showers throughout the year. During each event window, one of Minior’s different core colors will make its official Pokémon GO debut. Depending on the shower, core debuts may even differ between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres!
Mark your calendars for these upcoming meteor showers:

Perseids: August 10 at 5:00 p.m. to August 15 at 11:59 p.m. local time
Minior Showers Explore by Starlight
To make these events even more magical, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time every day during each Minior Shower, the in-game sky will be illuminated by gorgeous shooting stars. During these evening hours, you will also enjoy a significantly increased chance of encountering Minior out in the wild.
A Brand-New Way to Battle: Form-Changing Mechanics
Minior isn’t just shaking up the skies; it’s going to completely change how you approach combat. Minior enters battle in its Meteor Form, which boasts a higher Defense stat and a lower Attack stat.
However, once Minior’s health is reduced to below 50%, its heavy outer shell breaks away, changing its form and exposing its core. In its core-exposed state, the stat weights flip completely, giving Minior a higher Attack stat and a lower Defense stat.
Where Can It Change Forms?
Initially, Minior will only be able to trigger this dynamic form change when battling: Team GO Rocket, Team Leaders, or in the GO Battle League
(Note: Minior will not be eligible for the 2027 Latin America International Championships).
Get Ready for Launch!
Whether you are looking to grind for extra Stardust, complete your collection of all seven core colors, or test out a brand-new battle strategy with Minior’s unique health-threshold form changes, these meteor showers are unmissable.
