The Adventure Week Event in Pokémon GO starts on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time. The event promises to be a Fossil time in Pokémon GO featuring some Rock- and Water-type Pokémon.
Adventure Week Event Details
Event Bonuses
During the event, trainers will have access to the following bonuses.
- 2x XP for spinning PokéStops
- 5x XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time
- 2x XP for hatching Pokémon
- Increased chance to encounter Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, and Amaura as Shiny.
Wild Encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently during the event.
- Diglett
- Omanyte
- Kabuto
- Dunsparce
- Roggenrola
- Drilbur
- Bunnelby
- Aerodactyl
All can be shiny with a shiny odds of 1/500 except Aerodactyl with 1/64 odds to be shiny.
Event Eggs
During the event, the 7 km Eggs received from friends’ gifts will have the following Pokémon as a possible hatch. Eggs will also have an increased chance to be shiny.

- Shieldon
- Tirtouga
- Archen
- Tyrunt
- Amaura
All can be shiny.
Field Research Tasks
There will be event-based Field Research tasks that reward trainers with an encounter with certain Pokémon, depending on which task is it. The tasks and rewards are as follows.
- Catch 10 Rock-type Pokémon: Dunsparce (100% IV is 724 CP) or Roggenrola (100% IV is 516 CP)
- Hatch an Egg: Cranidos (100% IV is 780 CP) or Tirtouga (100% IV is 638 CP) or Archen (100% IV is 789 CP)
- Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms: Drilbur (100% IV is 589 CP) or Bunnelby (100% IV is 237 CP)
- Explore 2 km: Shieldon (100% IV is 381 CP), or Tyrunt (100% IV is 700 CP), or Amaura (100% IV is 584 CP)
- Evolve a Pokémon: Lileep (100% IV is 553 CP), or Anorith (100% IV is 655 CP), or 10 Aerodactyl Mega Energy

A paid timed research is available for purchase for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency). The paid research will reward trainers who bought it with the following.
