The Celestial Research Day in Pokémon GO is on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The research day features event-themed Field Research tasks that will award encounters with the Solrock and Lunatone upon completion.
Research available during the Celestial Research Day in Pokémon GO
Field Research
Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will be available. Completing these tasks will lead to encounters with either Lunatone or Solrock. Since the event starts at 2:00 p.m. local time, Field Research from PokéStops will refresh to feature event-themed research.
Furthermore, Trainers participating in the event will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Lunatone and Shiny Solrock.
Paid Timed Research
If you want more Lunatone and Solrock encounters, you can purchase this timed research. The Paid Timed Research will challenge you to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of the Lunatone and Solrock. Additionally, you will earn XP and Stardust!
