Another Classic Community Day (CCD) is here in Pokémon GO. This time, it features Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. The CCD starts on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and it runs until 5:00 p.m. local time.
The event grants bonuses such as 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon; Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours; Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours; and you can encounter Charmander five times when you take snapshots of your buddy Pokémon five times.
Other features of the event are as follows;
- Timed Research awarding Charizard Mega Energy and XP.
- Field Research awarding encounters with Charmander, Stardust, Great Balls, Charizard Mega Energy, and more.
- Special Attack when you evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) to Charizard. You will get Fast Attack Dragon Breath and Charged Attack Blast Burn.
- Pokéstop Showcases where you can enter your Pokémon and get rewards after the showcase completes.
Tips and Tricks for Charmander Classic Community Day
To make the best use of the three hours, here are the things you should do.
- Be on the lookout for a Hundo (100% IV) and a potential Shundo (Shiny 100% IV) from Field Researches rewarding encounters with Charmander. The Hundo from Field Research has a CP of 420. If it’s shiny, then that’s a Shundo.
- If you are into PVP or you want to get started, Charizard is a monster Pokémon in GO Battle League. You don’t want to transfer a rank 1 Charizard. To make sure you do not, see Pokémon GO Search Strings to Mass Transfer everything but PVP IVs Pokémon. After which you can check for the rank 1 Charizard for Great League. It has an IV of 0 Attack, 15 Defense, and 13 HP. For Ultra League, the rank 1 has an IV of 0 Attack, 13 Defense, and 15 HP.
- Ensure you Mega Evolve either Charizard, Houndoom, or Blaziken. You can also evolve Groudon to Primal Groudon. Doing this gets you extra candy and XP.
- Save a few Shiny Charmander for potential lucky trades with those who you play Pokémon GO with.
- Make sure you pop six Star Pieces that would last during the entire three hours of CCD. With Star Piece, each catch gets you 450 Stardust. With this, you can accumulate a lot of Stardust.
- Work on some of the Pokémon GO medals e.g., Kindler, Showcase Star, Tiny Pokémon Collector, or Jumbo Pokémon Collector.
There are many other tips and tricks you can do. However, the above six are those that I find achievable for any type of Pokémon Trainer. You can do all these tips and tricks and have one of the best Community Day ever.
