The Pokémon GO Crown Clash event starts on Saturday, May 10, at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This event features the debut of Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon in Pokémon GO, and some Pokémon with new costumes.
Please note: you can evolve Bisharp into Kingambit after you defeat 15 Dark-type or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles with Bisharp as your buddy. You do not have to defeat these Pokémon with Bisharp.
Crown Clash Event Bonuses
Trainers participating in the event will have access to the following bonuses from the start till the end of the event.
- 2× XP for evolving Pokémon.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Nidoqueen wearing a crown, Shiny Nidoking wearing a crown, Shiny Slowpoke, Shiny Combee, and Shiny Litleo.
- Catching Slowpoke may award a King’s Rock.

Event-themed Research
The following event-themed research will be available during the event.
- Field Research Tasks will be available. Completing the research tasks will award encounters with the event-themed Pokémon.
- Collection Challenge will be available. Completing the event-themed Collection Challenges will award the following
- XP
- Stardust
- Encounters with Pawniard.
- One guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon after completing the Collection Challenge. (This bonus is ONLY Trainers Level 31 and up).
Also, as a reminder, there will be PokéStop Showcases available during the event. You can enter your largest event-themed Pokémon for a chance to win the Showcase and get the rewards.
