Dondozo, the Big Catfish Pokémon, makes its Pokémon GO debut during the Sunkissed Shores event! The event starts on Monday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. local time. It continues until Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. A whole week featuring new Pokémon, event bonuses, wild encounters, Raids, Field Research tasks, Paid Time Research, and Free Timed Research.
Dondozo debuts event bonus and Raids
Trainers participating in the Sunkissed Shores event will enjoy 2x XP for winning Raid Battles. This becomes 4x XP if the Trainer is using a Lucky Egg while winning a Raid Battle.

The following research will be available from the start until the end of the event.
- Field Research Tasks and Rewards: Complete Field Research tasks to earn encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
- Free Timed Research and Rewards: Complete the free Timed Research tasks to earn rewards, including 10,000 XP, 7000 Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
- Paid Timed Research and Rewards: For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Complete the Paid Timed Research to earn rewards, including 4,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust, Pinap Berry Bag avatar item, and more.
- Paid Timed Research and Rewards: For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Complete the Paid Timed Research to earn rewards, including 3,000 XP, Two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with Slakoth wearing a visor and Dondozo.
