Why Use Fast Moves and Not Charged Moves?
Using Charged Moves require that you generate their energy by using a Fast Move. Charge Moves takes a longer time to charge and then use than Fast Moves. In addition, using Charged Moves instead of the GMax Moves deals a relatively low damage to the Gigantamax Pokémon you are battling. So, to use the GMax Moves, you only need to use the Fast Move (and the Max meter) to charge up the GMax Moves faster.
This the best strategy to get to either your Pokémon’s Max Attack, Max Guard or Max Spirit quicker, especially for Gigantamax Battles and Legendary Dynamax Battles.
How Many Trainers are Required?
Gigantamax Battles can take a maximum of 40 people per battle. The 40 people are grouped in a team of 4 based on when they joined the max battle. This mean, you may not see your friend in the same team as yours. However, if you got the time, you can always check the team list by pressing on “Team X of Y” where X are a number from 1 to 10.
You can only see what those in your team of 4 are doing i.e. damages, attacking, dynamaxing or gigantamaxing.
To defeat a Gigantamax Pokémon, you need a minimum of 20 people in total. These people must also be using the recommended counters against the Gigantamax Pokémon. Please note: you can only use Pokémon that can either Dynamax or Gigaantamax to participate in Max Battles.
