Gigantamax Garbodor will be making its debut in Pokémon GO during the first Max Battle event in November 2025. Trainers will be able to engage Gigantamax Garbodor in six-star Max Battles on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Lucky Trainers will be able to encounter Gigantamax Garbodor after defeating it in Power Spots.
Gigantamax Garbodor is Poison-type Pokémon that is weak to Pokémon with Ground- or Psychic-type moves. It’s maximum Combat Power (CP) is 2651 CP. Consequently, the best counters against it are as follows.
- Defender: Crowned form Zamazenta with Metal Claw as a Fast Attack and Behemoth Bash as a Charged Attack
- Attacker: Dynamax Metagross with Zen Headbutt as a Fast Attack and Earthquake as a Charged Attack
- Attacker: Dynamax Excadrill with Mud Shot as a Fast Attack and Earthquake as a Charged Attack
If you find a Gigantamax Garbodor with 1339 CP after winning a Max Battle, that is a perfect IV (i.e., hundo) Gigantamax Garbodor. If it shows up as shiny, that a shundo.
Gigantamax Garbodor Max Battle Day Event Bonuses
Trainers participating in the max battle day will have access to the following bonuses.
- 1,600 Max Particle as collection limit
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Garbodor.
- Power Spots will refresh every 30 minutes
- Can collect 800 Max Particles per Power Spots. (New Power Spots will give 820 Max Particles each)
- Two additional Special Trades can be made (for a total of 3 during the event).
Additionally, the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20 from October 31 at 5:00 p.m. to November 1 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). Likewise, the following bonuses will be active on November 1, 2025, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
- 600 Max Particles from exploring.
- 0.5 km Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles.
Event Research
Timed Research
There will be Timed Research available leading into the event (i.e., on October 27 at 6:00 a.m. – November 1 at 5:00 p.m. local time). Completing the Timed Research tasks leads to an encounter with Dynamax Drilbur. Dynamax Excadrill (the evolution of Dynamax Drilbur) is a strong contender for battles against Gigantamax Garbodor! In addition, completing the Timed Research tasks will award Candy and Max Particles to help power up your team.
Event-exclusive Research
For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Completing these will reward you with the following.
- 1 Max Mushroom
- 25,000 XP
You’ll also receive the following bonuses.
