Pokémon GO and the Niantic Company announced the debut of Gigantamax Kingler in Max Battles. As a custom, Dynamax Kingler has been in max battles for several weeks.
If you are like me, I guess you have done a lot of Dynamax Kingler battles and probably spent Max Particles (MP) building one or two. Now is the time to ditch all of those Dynamax Kinglers and get yourself a better Gigantamax Kingler. Why would you need Dynamax Kingler when you can use Gigantamax Kingler in max battles?
Gigantamax Kingler will debut in six-star Max Battles on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. If you are lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.
Tips for Defeating Gigantamax Kingler
- Get yourself a group of 40 trainers who are ready to participate in the Gigantamax battles. The best way to get these trainers is to join your local Pokémon GO community or check the Campfire App for events specifically for the Gigantamax battles. Join others and have a fun time defeating Kingler.
- Prepare your Max Battle team. To defeat Gigantamax Kingler, you need a team of Grass and Electric Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. Examples of these are Gigantamax Venusaur and Gigantamax Toxtricity. Ensure you power them up and also level up their max moves.
- You may need to buy Max Mushrooms. However, if you don’t want to then you need to participate in the battle with at least 20 other trainers.
Event Bonuses
The debut of Kingler as a Gigantamax Pokémon comes with bonuses that will be available for all trainers. The bonuses are as follows.
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600 instead of 800.
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
- Power Spots will refresh every hour.
- You can collect 800 Max Particles from each Power Spot.
- 600 Max Particles from exploring.
- Adventure/explore 0.5km distance to receive Max Particles. For this to work, you will need to first collect all Max Particles available in your Nearby menu.
If you want more, you can purchase the event ticket for US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). With the ticket, you will have access to the event-exclusive Timed Research which will reward you the following.
- 1 Max Mushroom
- 25,000 XP
- 2× XP from Max Battles
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 5,600
