Pokémon GO Goomy Community Day: Recap

The Goomy Community Day ended for me a few hours ago. Here I am to share how the event went for me. As you can recall, June 2024 Pokémon GO Community Day featuring Goomy, the Soft Tissue Pokémon, was on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This recap will be based on the results I got from the event bonuses.

The event bonuses were 2x Candy for catching Pokémon; 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon; 2x chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon; Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours; Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours; Take five snapshots during Community Day for encounters with Goomy; You can do an additional Special Trade for a maximum of three for the day; and Trades will require 50% less Stardust.

How did I do?

2x Candy for catching Pokémon

Before the start of the event, I had a Goomy Candy count of 2,305. After the Community Day, the Candy count was 5,749. That means an increase of 3,444 Candy. This is the count after all the evolutions had been done and all the unneeded has been transferred. It is important to note that I did not use any Pinap Berry when catching Goomy. However, I mega-evolved a max mega (Mega level 3) Rayquaza throughout the event. This contributed to the Candy count.

3x Stardust for catching Pokémon

Before the start of the event, I had a Stardust count of 32,827,477. After Community Day, the Stardust count was 33,151,759. That means an increase of 324,282 Stardust. This is the count after all the evolutions had been done. Also, note that Egg hatches, Berry feeding at Gyms, Raid rewards, and the Community Day Field and Special Research contributed to the Stardust count. It is important to also note that we had a Weather Boosted Community Day, Goomy a Dragon-type Pokémon was boosted which means extra Stardust when catching Goomy.

2x chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon

I’m level 50 therefore I was able to benefit from this bonus.

Before the start of the event, I had a Goomy Candy XL count of 539. After Community Day, the Goomy Candy XL count was 1,174. That means an increase of 635 Candy XL. I was not able to do any long-distance trade that could have contributed to the Candy XL count. However, I mega-evolved a max mega (Mega level 3) Rayquaza throughout the event. This contributed to the Candy XL count.

Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours

I had a lot of Lure Modules that were rewards received from winning PokéStop showcases. Since the second evolution stage of Goomy (i.e. Sliggoo) requires a Rainy Weather or Rainy Lure Module to evolve into Goodra, I was able to Lure up PokéStops with the Rainy Lure Module.

Before the start of the event, I had 21 Rainy Lure Modules. However, I was able to use 11. The result of this was an increase of 784 for the Picknicker medal.

Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours

I cannot measure how this contributed to the event. However, I used 3 Incenses. This means I still had a 6-hour incense timer after the event concluded.

Take five snapshots during Community Day for encounters with Goomy

I did not forget to take five snapshots of my buddy. This contributed to an increasing count of the Cameraman medal.

You can do an additional Special Trade for a maximum of three for the day

I was not able to do any special trade.

Trades will require 50% less Stardust.

I was not able to do any trade.
