The Pokémon GO Growing Up event starts on Friday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This event features an increased chance to hatch a certain Shiny Pokémon while also having an increased chance to encounter some Shiny Pokémon, and different Pokémon sizes in the wild.
Growing Up Event Bonuses
Trainers participating in the event will have access to the following bonuses from the start till the end of the event.
- 2× XP for evolving Pokémon.
- 2× Candy from hatching Eggs.
- Increased chance to hatch Shiny Wimpod.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Magikarp, Shiny Swablu, and Shiny Wimpod.
- Increased chance to encounter XXS and XXL Pokémon in the wild.

- Cutiefly
- Wimpod
- Rookidee

All the Pokémon can be shiny except Rookidee.

The following Pokémon will hatch from their respective Egg pool during the event.

- 5 km Eggs
- Mime Jr.

- 10 km Eggs
- Toxel (may also hatch from 10 km Eggs after the event ends)

All the Pokémon can be shiny.

Event-themed Research
The following event-themed research will be available during the event.
- Field Research Tasks will be available. Completing the research tasks will award encounters with the event-themed Pokémon.
- Collection Challenge will be available. Completing the hatch-focused Collection Challenges will award the following
- XP
- Stardust
- Encounters with Tandemaus.
- Paid Timed Research will be available for Trainers to purchase for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Completing the paid timed research will award Trainers with the following.
- One (1) Incubator
- 15 Pinap Berries
- 3,000 Stardust
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Magikarp, Swablu, Lucario, Wimpod, Tandemaus, and more!
- An event-themed avatar pose
Also, as a reminder, there will be PokéStop Showcases available during the event. You can enter your largest event-themed Pokémon for a chance to win the Showcase and get the rewards.
