Using the above-recommended teams will make trainers 3 – 5 Trainers defeat Heatran faster. However, if you do not have these full teams, you can still win. You need to raid with at least 6 other trainers. Ensure you use Pokemon with either Mud Shot/Mud-Slap as a Fast Attack or Earth Power/Earthquake/Scorching Sands as a Charged Attack.

Other important details

  • Heatran’s maximum Combat Power (CP) stat is 4244 CP (at level 50).
  • Its best moves/attacks in Pokémon GO are Fire Spin as a Fast Attack and Magma Storm as a Charged Attack.
  • Its encounters are boosted during Sunny and Snowy weather in-game.
  • Its encounters can be Shiny.
  • It requires a maximum of 20 km walking distance to earn a Candy.
  • It is effective against Pokémon with either Bug-, Fairy-, Grass-, Ice-, Poison- or Steel-type moves/attacks.
  • It was last featured in Five-Star Raids from Saturday, March 22, 25 at 10:00 a.m. local time to Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Any obtained from raids can be encountered as follows
    • from 2058 CP to 2145 CP (if not weather-boosted)
    • from 2573 CP to 2681 CP (if weather-boosted)
  • Any obtained from a Field or Special Research can be from 1544 CP to 1609 CP.
  • 2145 CP, 2681 CP, and 1609 CP are the CP for a perfect (aka, hundo) one when encountered from their respective means.
  • The tallest possible one is 2.64 m high (i.e. XXL).
  • The shortest possible one is 0.83 m high (i.e. XXS).

In conclusion, defeating Heatran in raids requires a well-prepared team of strong Ground-type Pokémon. Avoid using Fire-, Bug-, Grass-, Steel-, Ice-, or Fairy-type Pokémon, as Heatran resists their attacks. To maximize efficiency, raid in partly cloudy or sunny weather, coordinate with fellow trainers, and use recommended Mega Evolutions or Primal Reversions to boost Ground-type attacks.

Good luck!
