Tips to Maximize the High Voltage event

Since this event is mainly focused on Electric-type Pokémon, you will want to maximize your candy and XP gains. Some of the ways to do these are as follows.

Use Mega Evolved Pokémon.

You should mega evolve your mega-level 3 Electric-type Pokémon throughout the event (especially when you are catching a lot of the wild encounters). Examples of the Electric-type Pokémon that can mega evolve are Ampharos and Manectric. Using these two interchangeably will grant you enhanced Catch Candy bonus, excellent Candy XL chance, and enhanced Catch XP bonus.

In addition, you can improve your candy gains by using either Pinap Berry of Silver Pinap Berry when catching Pokémon.

Grind XP and Stardust

The event bonus gives 2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better and 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon. Use your Nice Throws skills during this event while catching a lot of the wild spawns (an research encounters). You could also use a lot of Lucky Egg and Star Piece during the event if you are grinding XP and Stardust.

Be on the lookout for Shiny and Hundos

Most of the event-themed wild spawns can be shiny. If the odds are in your favor, you might encounter shiny in the wild or as research encounters. Likewise, you may be lucky to encounter hundo (or shundo) in the wild or as research encounters. It is difficult to say which Pokémon is a hundo until you catch it. However, there are certain CPs to lookout for with the Pokémon you encounter from research tasks.

The following are the Pokémon and their hundo CPs from research

  • Magnemite: 583 CP
  • Yamper: 337 CP
  • Morpeko: 832 CP
  • Emolga: 700 CP
  • Dedenne: 789 CP
  • Togedemaru: 926 CP
