Managing your Pokémon GO friend list is one of the best things you need to know how to do. If not, why do you have those friends? I know you need them so as to get raid invites, gain experience points (XPs) from friendship level-ups, and also to complete some research tasks in Pokémon GO. However, to achieve these, you will to effectively manage your friend list.
If you have over 350 Pokémon GO friends like I do, managing your friend list becomes more difficult. This is because of the limitation on the number of gifts you can send and receive per day. You would not be able to interact with all your friends per day due to the limitation. However, there are other ways you can interact with your friends aside from sending or receiving gifts. You can either battle them, do a raid with them, or trade a Pokemon with them. These other ways are not guaranteed if you want to effectively manage your friends list like a pro.
So, how do you go about this?
Make a plan to interact with a certain friendship level per day
As an example, I scheduled Mondays for the Best Friends level. Tuesdays for Ultra Friends; Wednesdays for Great Friends; Thursdays for Good Friends; Fridays for New Friends, and Saturdays, and Sundays for the friends I did not interact with during Mondays to Fridays.
Filtering and Sorting
After you have mapped out what days you want for which friendship level, you need to filter and sort your friend list accordingly. To do this, you will need to use the search string below.
- giftable&interactable&friendlevelX, where X represents which friendship level. 4 for Best Friend, 3 for Ultra Friends, 2 for Great Friends, 1 for Good Friends, and 0 for New Friends.
If you use giftable&interactable&friendlevel4, you will filter out a list of all the friends you are Best Friends with. After which you need to sort this list by Friendship Level. You can then go ahead with sending and receiving gifts from these friends for that day.
If at this point you already reached the limit for opening gifts, make sure you send gifts to the remaining friends on that list then take a screenshot of the friends you did not send a gift to. If not, use !giftable&interactable&friendlevel4. This will filter out the Best Friends you can open gifts from but not send gifts to. Go ahead and receive the gifts from these friends. At this, you may have probably reached the limit for opening gifts. If yes, take a screenshot of the friends you were not able to receive gifts from. If you have not reached the gift-sending limit, go ahead and sort the filter giftable&interactable&friendlevel4 by “Can receive a gift”, then send gifts to those friends who can receive a gift.
Now, the next thing is to repeat the same process for Ultra, Great, Good, and New friendship levels respectively during the day you have scheduled for each.
Cleaning up
Do the cleaning up on Saturdays and Sundays.
Go back to the screenshot you took from Monday to Friday, then carry out the filtering and sorting process for all the friendship levels. Open and/or send gifts to as many as you can in order to interact with them during that week.
Things to note
This strategy will help you manage your friend list effectively. However, it does not guarantee that you will interact with all your friends weekly especially if you have over 350 friends. You need not worry too much about this anyway since not all your friends are active.
Also, there are days when you need to coordinate friendship level-ups. Ensure you consider this when sending and receiving gifts. You can schedule those whom you have 1-day of interaction left (to reach a certain friendship level) with as part of those you whom you interact with on Saturday and Sunday.
I hope this helps.
