Tynamo Community Day Event Guide

July 2024 Pokémon GO Community Day featuring Tynamo, the EleFish Pokémon, is on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event features Tynamo appearing more than usual in the wild with increased shiny odds of 1 in 25.

Legacy Attack/Move

During the event, and up to five hours afterward (i.e. till 10:00 p.m. local time), you can fully evolve Tynamo into Eelektross to get an Eelektross that knows Volt Switch as a Fast Attack/Move.

Volt Switch is an exclusive Electric-type Fast Attack that deals 12 damage in Trainer Battles (PVP) and 14 damage in Gyms and raids (PVE). It costs 10 Energy for both PVP and PVE.

You will need 25 Tynamo Candy to evolve Tynamo into Eelektrik, and 100 Tynamo Candy plus an Unova Stone to evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross.

100% IV Tynamo

There are many possibilities to encounter a 100% IV Tynamo in the wild. You will need to know all the maximum CP for all the different Tynamo power-up levels. This varies for boosted weather and non-boosted weather Tynamo. You will need to catch as many as possible. However, it is easier to know the CP of a 100% IV Tynamo encountered via completing Field or Event-themed Research. The CP of a 100% IV Tynamo from field or event-themed research is 347 CP and a power-up level of 15.

You can hatch as many Eggs as possible during the 3 hours if you keep incubating all the Eggs you have at the start event and those you receive during the event. You can also gain a lot of candy during the 3 hours if you catch as many as you can while using a max-level mega Pokémon for the entire duration of the Tynamo Community Day. The best Pokémon to mega evolve is any Electric-type Pokémon e.g. Mega Ampharos, Mega Manectric, or Primal Kyogre. Primal Kyogre is a Water-type Pokémon but it boosts Electric-, Water-, and Bug-type Attacks. Likewise, use Pinap (or Silver) Berries while catching.

You can also gain millions of XP during the 3 hours event if you catch as many as possible with either Great or Excellent Throws. The 4x XP for catching Pokémon bonus featured in the Better Together Event is also available for this event. You need to make good use of this bonus.
