The Max Battle Day Lead-Up Timed Research comes up every Monday. This occurs whenever a Max Battle Day or Max Battle Weekend is planned during the weekend that follows that Monday. Usually, Trainers will get the Led-Up Timed Research on the “EVENTS” tab.
You can find the “EVENT” tab by clicking on the ‘binoculars’ icon on the lower-left side of the Pokémon GO App’s screen. The tab is beside the “TODAY” and “SPECIAL” tabs. You may need to scroll up on the “EVENTS” tab to see the lead-up Timed Research.

Best Practices Max Battle Day Lead-Up
The following is a list of the things you should do in preparation for the upcoming Max Battle Day or Max Battle Weekend.
- Save on Max Particles. You will want to complete the above tasks by doing only the One-Star Max Battles. Each costs 250 Max Particles (MP). 5 Max Battles will cost you a total of 1250 MP.
- Don’t buy MP, collect them. You can get the 1250 MP by either visiting Power Spots or Walking. Each Power Spot will give you 120 MP (or 100 MP). Walking 2 km will get you 300 MP that you can collect from the Power Spot tab in the Pokémon GO app. There’s a limit of 800 MP per day that you can collect. However, if you do it right, you can collect up to 1500 MP per day.
- Don’t claim the reward of 1500 MP. You have until Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to claim the reward. Wait until you run out of MP during the Max Battle Day or Weekend to claim the 1500 MP. However, you need to do this before the deadline.
- Use Daily Free MP Wisely. If you don’t have a good counter against Gigantamax Meowth, you should claim the daily free MP from Power Spot and Walking. Use these to get the counters and their Max Moves.
