Mega Level 4, also known as Super Max Level, will be coming to the Pokémon GO app. Trainers will be able to get their Mega Pokémon to the new highest Mega level. However, this will first be available with the debut of Mega Victreebel, Mega Malamar, and Mega Dragonite in Pokémon GO. It will then be available during the Road to Kalos event and during the Global Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos.
At the start of the Road to Kalos event, Trainers will have an opportunity to encounter a Beedrill via a new introduction to Mega Level 4: Super Max Mega Evolution! You’ll also receive enough Beedrill Mega Energy to test out Mega Evolution for yourself and take part in Super Mega Raids!
What is the new Mega Level 4 called, Super Max?
Every time you Mega Evolve a Pokémon, you work toward increasing its Mega Level. Up until now, there have been three levels. Now, you’ll be able to increase your Pokémon’s Mega Level even higher, all the way up to Super Max Level.
To help your Pokémon’s Mega Level reach Super Max, Mega Evolving alone won’t be enough. You’ll need to use that Pokémon’s Mega Energy to level it up.
Once your Pokémon’s Mega Level reaches Super Max, you can take advantage of the following increased bonuses, in addition to the bonuses currently available at the third level.
- Greatly enhanced CP
- Greatly increased Catch Candy, Catch XP, and Candy XL chance for catching Pokémon that share a type with your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
- The Mega Level 4 rest period will last for 24 hours. This is lower than the current 72 hours rest period for Mega Level 3 (also known as Max Level).
- You can spend an additional 5 Mega Energy to Mega Evolve. This cost eventually decreases back to 0 after the rest period concludes.
How can my Mega-Evolved Pokémon reach Super Max Level?
First, you must increase a Pokémon’s Mega Level to the third level, i.e., the Max level. After which, you can increase it to Super Max. However, not all the currently released Mega Pokémon can get to the Super Max level.
After you get your Mega Pokémon to Mega Level 3, you’ll need to use that Pokémon’s Mega Energy to level it up to Mega Level 4. You will be able to get more mega energy by participating in Super Mega Raids to earn lots of Mega Energy to help complete this task. You will need a total of 5000 Mega Energy for that Mega Pokémon to level it up from Mega Level 3 to Mega Level 4.
