As a custom, November 2024 is going to feature four (4) different Pokémon GO spotlight hours during each week of the month. These spotlight hours include the featured Pokémon and rewards during each hour. These rewards are opportunities for trainers to concentrate on making the best out of each for one hour.
Pokémon GO spotlight hours occur every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
These are the featured Pokémon and their respective rewards
- Surskit on November 5 — 2x Transfer Candy
This is an opportunity to get as much candy as you can get. Transfer all the Legendary, Mythical, Ultra beasts, and other Pokémon in your storage that you do not need. You can prepare ahead by tagging all of these Pokémon and then mass-transfer them during this spotlight hour. You can then focus on transferring the shinies you do not need, one after the other. Or you could just focus on catching as many Surskits as you want.
- Smoliv on November 12 — 2x Evolution XP
This is an opportunity to get as much XP as you can get. Evolve 80-120 Pokémon in your storage during this spotlight hour. You can prepare ahead by tagging all of these Pokémon and then evolving them one after the other. You can also use this search string (0*,1*,2*,3*&10,13,16,265,293,519) to know which Pokémon you should focus on evolving. That search string will give you a list of the Pokémon that require less candy to evolve e.g. Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpie.
Remember to use Lucky Egg throughout the spotlight hour to maximize your XP gains.
- Teddiursa and Combee on November 19 — 2x Catch Stardust
This is an opportunity to get as much Stardust as you can get. Catch as many Teddiursa and Combee as you can catch. Also, if you have some Field Research encounters staked, this is when you want to get rid of them by catching them. Please note, Combee rewards more stardust per catch. You can focus on catching more Combee and less Teddiursa
Remember to use Star Piece throughout the spotlight hour to maximize your Stardust gains.
- Joltik on November 26 — 2x Catch XP
This is an opportunity to get as much XP as you can get. Catch as many Joltik as you can catch. Also, if you have some Field Research encounters staked, this is when you want to get rid of them by catching them.
Remember to use Lucky Eggs throughout the spotlight hour to maximize your XP gains.
You can also maximize your candy, XP, and Stardust gains by mega-evolving your Mega Level-3 Pokémon that shares a similar type with the featured Pokémon for each spotlight hour. For example, you will want to mega-evolve Primal Kyogre for Surskit; Mega Sceptile for Smoliv; Mega Beedrill for Combee; and Mega Manectric for Joltik.
