Niantic and the Pokémon GO Company today made live a Pokédex update in the Pokémon GO App. The Pokédex now features a new setting. You can now turn on or turn off alerts. Likewise, you can now see a Pokémon’s different attacks and their effectiveness.
A Sample of Pokédex Update: Alert and Battle Info
As shown in the image below, you can see the new “Alert Off” and Battle tab. With the introduction of this, we can assume more useful tabs can be added to the Pokédex. An example of a useful tab is a PVP IVs ranking tab. The tab can show the top 10 IVs for a particular Pokémon in the (2) classic GO Battle League tiers – Great League and Ultra League.

What Does the Pokédex Update: Alert Do?
If you turn the alert on a Pokémon, you will get notifications when the Pokémon appears in your in-game nearby menu. For this to work, you will need to go to your Pokémon GO app settings. Make sure you turn on notifications for “Adventure Sync: Nearby” to receive push notifications.
What Does the Pokédex Update: Battle Info Do?
The Battle Info tab shows you the Pokémon’s type, what Pokémon type it is resistant to, and what Pokémon type it is weak to. As seen in the image above for Marshadow, the Pokémon’s type is Fighting and Ghost. It is resistant to Normal-, Fighting-, Poison-, Rock-, and Bug-type moves. It is weak to Flying-, Ghost-, Psychic-, and Fairy-type moves.
In addition, you can see a list of its currently available Fast Attacks and Charged Attacks and their damage respectively.
This update is great for putting together the right Pokémon in a battle team whether you are participating in a raid, max battles, or GO Battle league.
