Pokémon GO: Fuecoco Community Day Event and Tips

Pokémon GO Fuecoco Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers around the world will be able to encounter Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokémon more frequently in the wild. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers can encounter Shiny Fuecoco.

Fuecoco Community Day Featured Attack

Trainers can evolve Crocalor (Fuecoco’s evolution) during the event and/or up to a week afterward to get a Skeledirge that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn. Blast Burn is a Fire-type attack/move with 110 power in Trainer Battles (PVP) and 120 power in Gyms and raids (PVE) respectively.

In addition, Skeledirge will be able to learn the Charged Attack Torch Song at the start of the event and afterward. Torch Song is a Fire-type attack/move with 70 power in Trainer Battles (PVP) and 100 power in Gyms and raids (PVE) respectively. In Trainer Battles, Torch Song increases the user’s attack by one stage.

Community Day Special Research

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Fuecoco exclusive Special Research. Completing the research will grant you more rewards. These include a Premium Battle Pass, a Rare Candy XL, additional encounters with Fuecoco, and three encounters with Fuecoco that have a Seasonal Special Background.

Furthermore, Trainers will have access to a Community Day Special Background Timed Research that lasts for a week following the event. The Timed Research rewards additional encounters with Fuecoco that has a Seasonal Special Background. Plus, you can evolve Crocalor (Fuecoco’s Evolution) during the week following the event to get a Skeledirge that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn!

Fuecoco Community Day Tips

The tips will be based on the event-themed bonuses.

  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
    • To maximize your Stardust gain, make sure you pop 6 Star Pieces at the start of the event. This will cover the 3-hour Community Day time. OR You can pop one Star Piece at the start. Then use Dialga’s Roar of Time Adventure Effect to extend the Star Piece time for an extra 2 hours and 30 minutes. You will need a total of 125,000 Stardust, and 125 Dialga Candy.

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon and 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
    • If you need to amass Candy (and Candy XL) for catching Fuecoco or other Pokémon that may appear during the Community Day, then you need to make use of this bonus. Try and use a Pinap Berry for every Pokémon you hand-catch during the Community Day. You should also use a Ninatic recommended auto-catcher if you have one. Likewise, you should use a Mega Evolved Fire-type Pokémon during the event. Using a Mege Pokémon grants you extra Candy per catch. It is recommended that you use a Level 3 Mega Pokémon. This can be either Mega Charizard (X or Y), Mega Blaziken, Mega Houndoom, or Primal Groudon.

  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.

Make use of the following additional bonuses to gain additional points toward in-game medals

  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
    • Using Lure Modules helps other Trainers to catch Pokémon. This contributes to your Picknicker medal.

  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
    • You can take an additional four (4) Buddy Snapshots making a total of five (5). This counts toward your Cameranman medal.

  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day and Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
    • This bonus will be active on the day of the event and from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. Communicate with your Lucky Friends and schedule your Lucky trades for this period. Also, you can plan with some of your friends to mass-mirror-trade Fuecoco after the event. This is recommended if you are looking to get a perfect IV Fuecoco or a perfect one for the GO Battle League.

Perfect IV Fuecoco

There are many possibilities to find a perfect IV Fuecoco in the wild. However, you will need to memorize all the possible Combat Power (CP), which is not possible. What is possible is that you look out for the highest possible CP during a non-weather boosted and a weather boosted condition.

During a non-weather boosted condition, the highest possible CP for Fuecoco (at level 30) is 966 CP. During a weather-boosted condition, the highest possible CP for Fuecoco (at level 35) is 1046 CP. These are the CPs you will see if your Trainer level is 31 and above. Fuecoco is boosted in Sunny weather in-game.

Finally, Fuecoco caught after completing a Field Research Task can be a perfect IV Fuecoco. The CP for a perfect IV Fuecoco (at level 15) from Field Research is 483 CP. If you find Fuecoco’s evolution in Field Research, their perfect is either 830 CP for Crocalor or 1297 CP for Skeledirge.

Perfect IV Fuecoco for GO Battle League

  • Great League: You need a Fuecoco with 1-15-15 IV that you can evolve into Skeledirge.
  • Ultra League: You need a Fuecoco with 0-15-15 IV that you can evolve into Skeledirge.

In conclusion, there will be event-themed Field Research Tasks. These tasks will have you catch Fuecoco to earn rewards such as Stardust, Balls, additional encounters with Fuecoco, and more. There will also be PokéStop Showcases during the Fuecoco Community Day.

Most importantly, do not play the Community Day alone. This is why it is called a “Community Day”. You can find other Trainers in your area to trade, battle, or join raids with via the Campfire App. I recommend that you join only the events hosted by a Community Ambassador. Joining a Community Ambassador event and checking it at the location of the event will grant you a free Timed Research.
