A brand new event is on the horizon. It is a Pokémon GO event that focuses on helping Professor Willow. In addition, Team GO Rocket will be featured as part of the event.
Why Do Trainers Need to Help Professor Willow?
Professor Willow’s research is running wild, literally! He needs Pokémon Go trainers’ help in finding a solution. The reason is that Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour which appear in certain parts of the world are appearing in the wild all over the world. This is rare. Likewise, lucky trainers using the Mystery Box might encounter Shiny Meltan. Furthermore, Ditto is shifting its aim. It is transforming into other Pokémon in the wild which is different from its usual transforms. To top it off, Team GO Rocket is turning more species of Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon.
When is the Let’s GO Event?
The event starts on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs until March 29, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Event features
Shiny Meltan.
If lucky, you can find shiny Meltan when you use the Mystery Box during the event. The Mystery Box can be obtained when you send a Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME or the Nintendo Switch titles Pokémon: Let’s GO, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s GO, Eevee!
Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour to appear worldwide.
For this event, the “Pan Family” will be appearing all over the world, in Field Research and in the wild. If you are lucky, you might encounter their shiny version.
Ditto new transformations.
Ditto will be transforming into Diglett, Grimer, Snubbull, Corpish, Starly, Rogegenrola, Tympole, and Litleo. Encountering any of these in the wild could just be you encountering a Ditto in disguise. If you are lucky, any of these could be a Shiny Ditto.
Event Bonuses
- Reduced waiting time for opening the Mystery Box. It usually takes a span of 3 days. Therefore, the reduced waiting time could be 1 or 2 days.
- 2x Candy for transferring Pokémon
- Increased chance of finding XXS and XXL Meltan.
- Increased chance of finding Ditto disguised as other Pokémon.
Team GO Rocket takeover
Team GO Rocket will be taking over starting from Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time and until March 29, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
As a result, Giovanni will be having Shadow Regice which trainers need to save! Also, Team GO Rocket will be appearing more frequently. Due to this, trainers can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack, Frustration.
The following Pokémon has been turned into Shadow Pokémon by Team GO Rocket
- Alolan Grimer
- Phanpy
- Treecko
- Torchic
- Drifloon
These and other Shadow Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket Grunts can now be shiny. If you are lucky, you may encounter a shiny version.
