Pokémon GO Might and Mastery Season

The Pokémon GO Might and Mastery Season starts on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. It will last for three (3) months ending on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. This new season will focus more on Fighting-type Pokémon.

What to Look Forward to: Might and Mastery Season

Season Bonuses

The Might and Mastery Season will feature the following bonuses.

  • 2x friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in raids.
  • Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching a five-star Raid Boss during a Raid Hour.
  • Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon.
  • 2x Stardust for the first catch of the day.
  • Seasonal Pokémon will hatch from Eggs.
  • Seasonal Pokémon will be in the wild.

Pokémon Debut in Pokémon GO

Kubfu, a legendary Fighting-type Pokémon will make its debut in Pokémon GO. Likewise, its Dynamax form will make its debut in Pokémon GO. Either version of Kubfu can evolve into one of two forms of the Pokémon Urshifu – Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style.

In addition to Kubfu, the following Pokémon will make their debut in Pokémon GO.

  • Dynamax Raikou
  • Dynamax Entei
  • Dynamax Suicune
  • Gigantamax Machamp
  • Shiny Charcadet

Furthermore, Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region, which was featured in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games for Nintendo Switch, will make their debut in Pokémon GO! Be on the lookout for Nickit, Thievul, and more!

Special Research (Free)

A Special Research will be available for all trainers to claim from Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. It will still be available to claim till the end of the season i.e., Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Completing parts of the Special Research tasks will grant trainers an encounter with Dynamax Kubfu. Please note that the Special Research will be released in parts throughout the Might and Mastery season. Completing each step will reward trainers with different Pokémon encounters and items.

Special Research (Paid)

For US$8.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you can purchase a separate Special Research. This will reward you with a second encounter with Dynamax Kubfu. The ticket will be available for purchase from Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

After you access either the free or the paid Special Research, you can complete either at any time.

Community Days

During the Might and Mastery season, community days will be held on the following dates.

  • Saturday, March 8 – March Community Day
  • Saturday, March 22 – March Classic Community Day

Power Up Ticket (Paid)

Trainers can purchase a Power Up Ticket during Might and Mastery. The ticket will grant bonuses such as one additional Candy XL for completing Raid Battles and Max Battles!

GO Battle League

Another GO Battle League season starts. Get your Pokémon ready to battle in competitions such as the Willpower Cup, the Spring Cup, Master Premier, and more! You can see more information about this on the official Pokémon GO page.

PokéStop Showcases

PokéStop Showcases will be available every week throughout Pokémon GO: Might and Mastery. You can find these from Saturday to Sunday as well as from Monday to Tuesday.

Weekly Research Breakthroughs

Trainers can complete Field Research to unlock Research Breakthrough encounters with one of the following Pokémon.

  • Alolan Marowak
  • Mawile
  • Druddigon
  • Jangmo-o
  • Charcadet
  • Frigibax

Different Pokémon in the wild

Depending on where you are playing Pokémon GO, you will encounter different Pokémon in different locations. These locations will be Cities, Forests, Mountains, Beaches, Water bodies, Northern hemisphere, and Southern Hemisphere.

Different Pokémon in Eggs

Depending on which Egg you are hatching in Pokémon GO, you will encounter different Pokémon in different Egg pool. These pool will be 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, 10 km, and 12 km.
