Pokémon GO: Powerful Potential Event Details

The Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event starts on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This event features the debut of Kubfu and Shiny Charcadet. Trainers can encounter Legendary Fighting-type Pokémon Kubfu via Special Research while Shiny Charcadet is in 2km, 5km, 7km, and 10km Eggs.

Please note, Kubfu is NOT currently available in its Shiny form. Also, there will be other Pokémon available in their respective Egg pool, not only Charcadet.

Pokémon GO Powerful Potential Event Bonus

Trainers participating in the event will have access to the following bonuses

• 1/2 (half) Egg hatch distance.
• 1/4 (one-quarter) Egg hatch distance (when you finish the global free Timed-Research).

Raids

The following Pokémon will be available in their respective Raid Tiers during the Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event.

• One-star Raids: Gothita, Solosis, and Sinistea.
• Three-star Raids: Alolan Raichu, Hisuian Typhlosion, and Sableye.
• Five-star Raids: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
• Mega Raids: Mega Lucario

All the Pokémon in their respective raid tiers can be shiny except Sinistea.

Max Battles

The following Pokémon will be available in their respective Max Battle Tiers during the Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event.

• One-star Max Battles: Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scorbunny, and Dynamax Sobble.
• Six-star Max Battles: Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise.

All the Pokémon in their respective Max Battle Tiers can be shiny except Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event-themed Research

The following event-based research will be available during the Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event.

• Might and Master Special Research will be available, although a part of it. This is going to be a Season-long research. However, Trainers will be able to encounter Dynamax Kubfu early on.

• Free Timed Research will be available. Completing this research will award Trainers with the following.
  • One (1) Incubator.
  • Encounter with Charcadet.
  • 1,500 Stardust.
  • 2x 3,000 XP.
  • Ten (10) Kubfu Candy.
  • Ten (10) Pinap Berry

• Field Research Tasks will be available. Completing the research will award Trainers with the following.
  • Encounter with event-themed Pokémon.
    • Hatch an Egg — Gothita, Solosis, or Sinistea.
    • Explore 2km — Gothita, Solosis, or Sinistea.
    • Win 2 Raids — Alolan Raichu, Hisuian Typhlosion, or Sableye.
  • Items such as Balls, Berries, etc.
    • Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy — 1,000 Stardust

• Paid Timed Research will be available for Trainers to purchase. For US$8.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), Trainers can play through separate Special Research and encounter Dynamax Kubfu again. Completing this research will award you with the following.
  • One (1) Incense.
  • Two (2) Premium Battle Passes.
  • One (1) Starpiece.
  • Encounter with Season-themed Pokémon.
  • Encounter with Dynamax Kubfu.
  • and more.
