Pokémon GO Seasonal Attack Availability

Seasonal Attack Availability is a common thing in Pokémon GO. This is when the already released Pokémon in Pokémon GO get the chance to learn new Attacks. As the name implies, Seasonal Attack Availability is always available before the start of a new Season in Pokémon GO.

We are currently nearing the end of the current Season. The current Season, titled Delightful Days, will end on September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The next Season will begin same time, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Implications of the New Attack Availability

The direct implication of these Attack updates is that most of the Pokémon mentioned in the table above will become more relevant for battles. For example, Salamence, a Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon, will become more relevant as a Dark-type Attacker in Battles (e.g., Raids, GO Battle League, and Gyms). This is because, before this update, the only Dark Attack it could learn was “Bite”. Bite is a Dark-type Fast Attack. Now, you can teach Salamence Bite as a Fast Attack and Brutal Swing as a Charged Attack. This combination will make Salamence a great Dark-type attacker against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon.

The indirect implication is that you can now use one Pokémon to serve two purposes. For example, Nidoqueen is a Poison- and Ground-type Pokémon. You can now have two different Nidoqueens, where one is used as a Poison-type attacker and the other is used as a Ground-type attacker. The Nidoqueen used as a Poison-type attacker will have either Poison Jab or Poison Sting as a Fast Attack and either Sludge Wave or Poison Fang as a Charged Attack. The Nidoqueen used as a Ground-type attacker will have Mud-Slap as a Fast Attack and either Earth Power or Earthquake as a Charged Attack.

You now have the information you need to get your Pokémon ready for battle. When the new Season starts, make sure to teach the mentioned Pokémon the moves that make them more useful in battles. Remember, these new attack availability will take effect from September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. You will be able to teach your Pokémon any of the attacks by then.
