
The 2025 Pokémon GO Water Festival features the debut of the Mimicry Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Tatsugiri will make its debut but as a regional Pokémon. This means Trainers will be able to catch a specific form of Tatsugiri, depending on which region of the world the trainer is in.
Starting on Tuesday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m. local time and continuing to Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, Trainers will be able to catch the following different Tatsugiri in their respective regions.
- Curly Form Tatsugiri (Europe, Middle East, Africa)
- Droopy Form Tatsugiri (Americas)
- Stretchy Form Tatsugiri (Asia-Pacific)
Pokémon GO Water Festival Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be available for Trainers participating in the Water Festivale event
- Rainy Lure Modules will last for two hours.
- Increased Candy for Nice Throws or better.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Staryu and Shiny Tirtouga.
- Lapras wearing a scarf caught from raids may have a Seasonal special background—if you’re lucky!

In addition to the wild encounters, the following Pokémon will appear in their respective raid tiers.
- One-Star Raids: Shellder, Ducklett, Curly Form Tatsugiri (in Europe, Middle East, Africa), Droopy Form Tatsugiri (in the Americas), and Stretchy Form Tatsugiri (in Asia-Pacific)
- Three-Star Raids: Kingler, Gyarados, Lapras wearing a scarf, and Azumarill
Pokémon GO Water Festival Research Tasks
There will be different research tasks during the event. Trainers can complete the research to earn rewards. The following are the available event-themed research.
- Field Research tasks
- Complete Field Research tasks to earn Mega Energy and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
- Paid Timed Research
- For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Completing the Timed Research will grant rewards such as one Rainy Lure Module, an event-themed avatar pose, encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Gyarados, Lapras wearing a scarf, and more!
- Collection Challenges
- Complete the catching-focused Collection Challenges to receive XP, Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
