However, when you get the event based Field Research tasks, you have the chance to encounter Paras, Castform (Normal, Sunny and Rainy), Drifloon, Helioptile and Amaura. Some trainers might encounter Showy Castform. Remember, all these encounters can be shiny.

Collection Challenges

There will be collection challenges during the event. These collection challenges will reward Stardus and Incense.

PokéStop Showcases

There will be Showcases at different PokéStops during parts of the event. You can enter your event-themed XXL Pokémon for a chance to gain different rewards like Lure Modules, Egg, Incense, Starpiece, XP etc when the showcases ends.

How to Make the best out of Weather Week

Since it’s weather week, what you should be looking out for is gaining a lot of Stardust. Here are tips to gain lots of stardust during this event.

  • Use Starpieces when you are “free” to go out and gain a lot of Stardust. If you do not have a lot of Starpieces to use, you can use Dialga’s Origin-forme Roar of Time to pause your Starpiece for a maximum of two hours each time.
  • Focus on the Pokémon that rewards more Stardust per catch. This Pokémon is Paras. It gives a base Stardust of 500. However, with the 2x Stardust per catch, this becomes 1000. You’ll even gain more if you catch Paras during Sunny and Rainy weather conditions.
  • Use the quick catch method to be able to catch as many Pokémon as possible when you are using the Starpieces.
