Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event in Pokémon GO

The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event is coming up in Pokémon GO on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. It will continue until Monday, October 20, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This event celebrates the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch on Thursday, October 16, 2025!

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event Features

In celebration of the release of this game, the following features will be available in Pokémon GO

• Mega Raids will appear more often in Pokémon GO.
• Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig will appear in Timed Research
• Avatar items inspired by Lumiose City Pokémon Trainers will be available in the Pokémon GO shop.

Mega Raids

No official information about the mega raids that will appear more frequently. However, the assumption is that the October 2025 Mega Raids will be available during this event. The Mega Raids are as follows

• Mega Mawile
• Mega Salamence
• Mega Rayquaza

Timed Research

A free event-exclusive Timed Research with branching tasks will be available.

You can complete the research tasks to earn XP, Candy, a Poffin, and encounters with either Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig with a Seasonal Special Background.

The first partner Pokémon you choose, based on the branching research, will have an increased chance to be attracted to Daily Adventure Incense.

In addition, the first partner Pokémon will be able to learn their featured attacks when evolved during the event. These are as follows

• Evolve Bayleef (Chikorita’s evolution) during the event to get a Meganium that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.
• Evolve Croconaw (Totodile‘s evolution) during the event to get a Feraligatr that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
• Evolve Pignite (Tepig’s evolution) during the event to get an Emboar that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn.

Furthermore, Meganium, Feraligatr, and Emboar will also be able to learn their featured attack using a Charged TM during the event.

Avatar items

The following new avatar items will be available for free in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends!

• Lumiose City Outfit (Fitted)
• Lumiose City Hat (Black)
• Lumiose City Shoes (Red)
• Lumiose City Outfit (Relaxed)
• Lumiose City Hat (White)
• Lumiose City Shoes (Blue)
