Precious Pals event: Shiny Fidough Debuts in Pokémon GO
The Precious Pals event comes with the debut of Shiny Fidough in Pokémon GO. Trainers may encounter Shiny Fidough, if lucky, from the start of the event on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The event ends on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Precious Pals event bonuses
Trainers participating in the event will have access to the following event-themed bonuses.
- Additional Candy XL when walking with your Buddy Pokémon.
- Additional hearts with your Buddy Pokémon.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Goldeen.
- Increased chance to hatch Shiny Goldeen and Shiny Fidough.
- Limited-time Evolution requirement until Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.:
- Evolve Eevee into Sylveon after earning 20 hearts with Eevee as your buddy.
- Evolve Pancham into Pangoro after catching ten Dark-type Pokémon with Pancham as your buddy.
- Evolve Pawmo into Pawmot after exploring 5 km with Pawmo as your buddy.
Other event details
Wild Encounters
Different event-themed Pokémon will be appearing in the wild. These include Goldeen, Zorua, Wimpod, Fidough, and more. However, Espurr will be appearing less frequently in the wild.
Eggs
Goldeen, Togepi, Happiny, Riolu, and Fidough will be hatching from the 2 km Eggs received from the start of this event.
Field Research Tasks and Encounters
Either Berries or event-themed Pokémon will be available as a reward after completing different Field Research tasks.
Collection Challenges
XP, Stardust, and Fidough will be available as rewards after completing the event-themed collection challenges.
Paid Timed Research
For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Timed Research rewards include the following.
- One Poffin
- An event-themed avatar pose
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon
