Shiny Pawmi will make its debut in Pokémon GO during May 2025 Community Day. Its evolutions, Shiny Pawmo, and Shiny Pawmot will also be available in Pokémon GO at the start of the Community Day.
The May 2025 Community Day is on Sunday, May 11, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Pawmi, the Mouse Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Shiny Pawmi will have an increased chance to be found in the wild. Technically, 1 in every 25 encounters, instead of 1 in every 512 encounters.
Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be available from the start of the event. While some bonuses last till the end of the event at 5:00 p.m. local time, some extends till 10:00 p.m. local time.
- You can evolve Pawmo into Pawmot after exploring 1 km with Pawmo as your buddy. This bonus lasts till May 18, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time. It will be reverted to exploring 25 km with Pawmo.
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day. This bonus lasts till May 11, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust. This bonus lasts till May 11, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Featured Attack
Trainers can evolve Pawmo to get a Pawmot that knows the Charged Attack Brick Break. Pawmo is the first stage evolution of Pawmi. The featured attack via evolution is available from the start of the Community Day until May 18, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Brick Break is a Fighting-type Attack that deals 40 power in Trainer Battles (PVP), Grunts, Gyms, and Raids Battles (PVE).
Shiny Pawmi’s Community Day Special Research
A Pawmi Community Day–exclusive Special Research will be available to purchase for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Completing this research will grant rewards including:
- 3 encounters with Pawmi that have Might and Mastery–themed Special Backgrounds
- Additional encounters with Pawmi
- 1 Premium Battle Pass
- 1 Rare Candy XL
- And even more goodies
In addition, there will be a Community Day Special Background Timed Research available to all trainers at no additional cost. The Timed Research will last for a week following the May 2025 Community Day. Completing the research tasks will award an encounter with a Pawmi (or Shiny Pawmi, if lucky) that has a Might and Mastery–themed Special Background.
Furthermore, there will be May Community Day-themed Field Research tasks available. You will need to Catch a certain number of Pawmi to complete a task. Depending on the task completed, you will either Stardust, Great Balls, or additional encounters with Pawmi. Some of these Field Research can lead to encounters with Pawmi that have Might and Mastery–themed Special Backgrounds—if you’re lucky!
