The Spelunker’s Cove event in Pokémon GO starts on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time and ends on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The event promises to be a beachy time in Pokémon GO featuring some Water-type and Rock-type Pokémon appearing during the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 in Madrid, Spain. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, trainers will be able to encounter Shiny Crabrawler if lucky.

The following Field Research Tasks reward an encounter with a Pokémon as stated below
- Catch 5 Rock-type Pokémon: Geodude, Nosepass, or Binacle.
- Hundo from research: Geodude (554 CP), Nosepass (425 CP), Binacle (405 CP).
- Win a Raid: Carbink or Jangmo-o.
- Hundo from research: Carbink (628 CP), Jangmo-o (415 CP).
- Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms: Pokeball, or Portion or Revive.
- Power up Pokémon 10 times: Crabrawler.
- Hundo from research: Crabrawler (584 CP)
Paid Timed Research
A paid timed research is available for purchase for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency). This research, which is focused on exploration and powering up Pokémon, will reward trainers who bought it with additional encounters with Crabrawler, 5 Premium Battle Passes, 20 Crabrawler Candy, and more. This paid research lasts through the Spelunker’s Cove event.

Spelunker’s Cove event Tricks
Shiny rates
For the Pokémon that can be shiny, they have a 1 in 500 chance to be shiny. However, Feebass has 1 in 64 chance to be shiny.
Wild Spawns to go after
- Marill. The fully evolved form, Azumarill, is one of the top Pokémon in some GO Battle League cups.
- Rhyhorn’s full evolution. Rhyperior has some play in the current Master League Pokémon. It is also one of the best Ground-type raid attackers.
- Chinchou‘s fully-evolved form, Lanturn, is one of the best Pokémon in the Great League.
- Carbink is one of the best Pokémon in the Great League. It needs lots of Candy XL to get to a CP relevant for the Great League. You can use this event to grind Carbink’s Candy.
