Wild Spawns (and Egg Hatches) to go after

  • Pidgey. The fully evolved form, Pidgeot, has a mega evolution which you can use to gain extra candy and XP when it is evolved and you catch any Normal- or Flying-type Pokémon. Pidgeot is also one of the top Pokémon in some GO Battle League cups.
  • Gligar is one of the best Great League Pokémon while its evolved form, Gliscor, has some plays in the Ultra League.
  • Meditite‘s evolved form, Medicham, is still one of the best Pokémon in Great League.
  • Riolu. The fully evolved form, Lucario, has a mega evolution (yet to be released in Pokémon GO) which you can use to gain extra candy and XP when it is evolved and you catch any Fighting-type Pokémon. Lucario is also one of the top Pokémon in some GO Battle League cups.

Wild Spawns (and Egg Hatches) to evolve

  • Pidgey. If you can, keep at least 100 Pidgey that you can easily evolve during the next 2x evolution XP event. The next one is on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Evolving the 100 Pidgey during the event (spotlight hour) will give you 100,000 XP (200,000 XP with lucky egg).
  • Riolu. If you get a good one, make sure you get the second move on the Riolu before you evolve it into a Lucario. You will be saving about 65,000 Stardust if you do that.

Farming Candy

Make sure you use Pinap Berry (or Silve Pinap Berry) on all the Pokémon you want to get more candy for. Pidgey expecially, if you intend to evolve 100 for more XP. You will need at leat 1200 Candy to evolve 100 Pidgey into 100 Pidgeotto.

Finally, make sure you catch ’em all. This is the basic requirement to get anything good from this event. If you want something great, then you’ve got to put in extra efforts on the the tips and tricks you just read.

Most importantly, have fun!
