During the Adventure Week event in Pokémon GO, Team GO Rocket will be taking over part of the event. The Adventure Week Takeover starts on Thursday, August 8, at 12:00 a.m. and ends on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time. Team GO Rocket will be turning some new Pokémon into their shadow forms while they also bring back some of the previous Shadow Pokémon.
Save Shadow Cresselia
One of the Pokémon that will be having its shadow form for the first time in Pokémon GO is Cresselia. To save Shadow Cresselia, you will have to battle and defeat Giovanni.
To achieve this, a new Special Research story will be available at the beginning of the event. The research story will reward a Super Rocket Radar as you progress through it. Equip the Radar, and use it to chase down Giovanni! Please note, you can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Shared Skies on September 3, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
Save Shadow Lugia
One of the previous Shadow Pokémon that would be returning to Pokémon GO is Shadow Lugia. Shadow Lugia will be available in Shadow Raids from Saturday, August 10, to Sunday, August 11, 2024, local time. Shadow Lugia can be shiny with 1/20 odds.
Save Shadow Pokémon
Other new Shadow Pokémon that can be saved during the event (and before the next Team GO Rocket Take over event) are as follows.
- Shadow Timburr and its evolutions
- Shadow Tirtouga and its evolutions
- Shadow Archen and its evolutions
These Pokémon can be saved by defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts. These Pokémon can be shiny.
