Scopely Explore has announced a Pokémon GO UK Summer Quest. This is going to be a massive event featuring local pop-ups, exclusive rewards, special creator appearances, and a chance to win a dream vacation.
Big news for Pokémon GO trainers in the United Kingdom (UK). Whether you can make it to London or are playing from elsewhere in the UK, there is plenty to get excited about in August 2026. Here is everything you need to know.
UK Summer Quest main Event: Shoreditch, London Takeover
If you are near London, head over to The Green at Boxpark in Shoreditch. The entire area will be turned into a real-world Pokémon GO playground across two weekends as follows
Weekend 1: Saturday, August 1, 2026, and Sunday, August 2, 2026
Weekend 2: Saturday, August 8, 2026, and Sunday, August 9, 2026
UK Summer Quest Local Gameplay and Rewards
Trainers will be able to access this free Timed Research by opening Pokémon GO in the event area between August 1 at 10:00 a.m. and August 2 at 11:59 p.m., or between August 8 at 10:00 a.m. and August 9 at 11:59 p.m. Once obtained, Trainers will have until August 31 at 11:59 p.m. local time to complete this Timed Research and claim all in-game rewards.
Free Coffee
Once you complete the very first stage of the free Timed Research, you can swing by the Pokémon GO pop-up coffee station at Boxpark, show the barista your in-game progress, and claim a free coffee!
Keep in mind that these are first-come, first-served, and the pop-up runs from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time on event days.
Meet Miniminter and Chunkz at the UK Summer Quest Event
Popular creators Miniminter and Chunkz are facing off in a Pokémon GO race across London. You can meet them in person at the Boxpark pop-up on August 1, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to swap tips, talk strategy, and see how their race turned out.
If you’re heading to Shoreditch to see Miniminter and Chunkz, make sure to arrive early as queues are expected to form quickly. Aside from a chance to see the duo wrap up their epic London race, attendees can look forward to exclusive photo opportunities, community trading hubs to swap Pokémon with fellow trainers, and live stage trivia where you can test your game knowledge for quick rewards.
The Ultimate Grand Prize: A Trip to Japan!
Local players who complete the Timed Research have a shot at winning a massive grand prize: a five-night hotel stay for two in Japan, including flights.

Complete the Research: Finish the local Timed Research in your game client.
Snap & Share: Use the built-in “What’s Your Favorite?” feature to highlight your top choice.
Post on Instagram: Upload your screenshot or post to a public Instagram profile using the hashtag #pokemongosummerquest before August 31, 2026. Tip: Ensure your account settings are set to “Public” until at least September 30, 2026, so the organizers can see your entry during the selection window!
Entries must be posted on social media by 11:59 p.m. (local time in the UK) on August 31, 2026. The winners will be selected at random from eligible entries received, and they will be contacted by September 30, 2026.
Can’t Make It to London? Play Nationwide!
Don’t worry if you can’t travel to Shoreditch. Niantic is running a Nationwide Gameplay & Prize Opportunity for everyone across the UK.
From August 1 at 10:00 a.m. to August 9 at 11:59 p.m. local time, all UK players will automatically receive a free Summer Quest Timed Research in their Events tab. You will have until August 31 to finish the tasks and claim your rewards.
Eligible Trainers can participate in both the local Timed Research and the nationwide Timed Research, but they will be able to win only one prize. If a Trainer is selected as a winner in both prize draws, only one prize will be awarded, and an alternate winner will be selected for the other prize.
Win Tickets to GO Fest 2027!
Completing the nationwide research puts you in the running for a different grand prize: a trip for two to Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe, which includes round-trip transportation and a three-night hotel stay in the secret host city.
The entry steps are exactly the same: complete the research, use the “What’s Your Favorite?” feature, and post it to Instagram with #pokemongosummerquest by August 31.
