Well Armed Event: Clobbopus Debuts in Pokémon GO and more

The Well Armed event is scheduled to start on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The event will end on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During the event, Trainers will be able to encounter new Pokémon making their debut in Pokémon GO. Additionally, Trainers will be able to participate in a Global Challenge during the event.

Pokémon Debuts during the Well Armed event in Pokémon GO

Clobbopus, the Tantrum Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut in the wild and in Field Research. Dynamax Hitmonlee and Dynamax Hitmonchan will make their debuts in Max Battle Power Spots. Clobbopus (and its Evolution, Grapploct) will be new the Pokémon. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are not new, only their Dynamax forms are.

Clobbopus is a Fighting-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Clobbopus is weak to Pokémon with Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type moves. It however, resists Pokémon with Rock, Dark, and Bug-type moves. Clobbopus can be evolved into Grapploct by using 50 Clobbopus Candy.

Clobbopus’ maximum Combat Power stat is 1286 CP. As a Fighting-type Pokémon, it performs best with Rock Smash as its Fast Attack and Superpower as its Charged Attack. A perfect Clobbopus encountered after completing a Research task is with 487 CP.

Dynamax Hitmonlee and Dynamax Hitmonchan are also Fighting-type Pokémon with the same weakness and resistance as Clobbopus. Trainers can battle either in Power Spots to encounter either in their Dynamax forms.

As Dynamax Pokemon, the best Pokémon you can have in your battle team against either Dynamax Hitmonlee or Dynamax Hitmonchan are as follows

• Dynamax Lugia as a Defender. It should have Extrasensory as its Fast Attack and Fly as its Charged Attack
• Dynamax Gardevoir or Dynamax Hatterene as an Attacker. Either should have Charm as a Fast Attack and Dazzling Gleam as a Charged Attack
• Dynamax Charizard as an Attacker. It should have Air Slash as its Fast Attack and Air Cutter as its Charged Attack

A perfect Dynamax Hitmonlee encountered after defeating it in Power Spot is with 1472 CP. If Shiny, that’s a Shundo. A perfect Dynamax Hitmonchan encountered after defeating it in Power Spot is with 1332 CP. If Shiny, that’s a Shundo.

Global Challenge during the Well Armed event in Pokémon GO

Trainers will be able to work together with other Trainers around the world to complete Max Battles! Once the challenge is complete, the following will be unlocked.

• Clobbopus will appear in the wild and in Field Research.
• You might encounter Mienfoo and Jangmo-o in the wild!
• Increased Candy and Candy XL from Max Battles.

Please note, Clobbopus will be available to encounter ONLY after the Global Challenge is completed.

Event Bonuses

The following bonuses will be available at the start of the event. Trainers can benefit from these until the end of the event.

• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Dynamax Hitmonlee and Shiny Dynamax Hitmonchan.

Other Activities during the event

• Wild encounters: Fighting-type Pokémon such as Poliwag, Machop, Makuhita* and more will appear more frequently in the wild.

• Field Research tasks: Complete Field Research tasks to earn Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon including Dynamax Hitmonlee and Dynamax Hitmonchan.

• Paid Timed Research: For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Completing the Timed Research rewards six Rare Candies, three Rare Candy XL, 1,600 Max Particles, and more.
