Pokémon GO: What’s your Favorite Special Research

The What’s your Favorite feature in Pokémon GO just got released! With the feature, you can unlock a free Special Research in Pokémon GO. Trainers will be able to use Pokémon GO’s Snapshot feature to unlock the research. This feature is released in celebration of 30 years of Pokémon.

30 Years of Pokémon

Pokémon was first discovered in Japan on February 27, 1996, with the release of the Pokémon Red and Green video games for the Game Boy, created by Satoshi Tajiri and Game Freak. The next 30 years were filled with adventure, discovery, and excitement as Trainers all over the globe came together in their shared love of Pokémon.

How to use Pokémon GO’s Snapshot feature

It’s simple to use! However, you can also follow these steps if you need a guide.

Step 1

Open the Pokémon GO App, click on the Poké Ball, and you will see the new “What’s your Favorite?” icon on top of the “camera” icon. Click on this to get to the Snaphot feature’s page.

Step 2

Click on the “What’s your Favorite” logo and you’ll be prompted to either “allow Pokémon GO to Access the Camera” on your phone or tablet, or “Choose a Pokémon.”

Step 3

You can now pick your favorite Pokémon and then snap a photo of it. Please note that you will need to make the floor visible. Additionally, you do not need to have a person in the snapshot. You also don’t need to use the AR feature.

You will be able to see the “What’s your Favorite?” Special Research after completing the above steps. If you didn’t, please restart your Pokémon GO app.

You can now claim your rewards of 10,000 Stardust, 5 Rare Candy, and a Lucky Egg.

If you want, you can share your photo on social media, using #Pokemon30.

Please be aware of your surroundings while using your device.

    Enjoy!
