XP Celebration Event in Pokémon GO

The XP Celebration event begins in Pokémon GO on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. local time. The celebration continues until Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time. The event is designed to help Trainers get more XP towards the new Trainer level rebalance.

Starting on October 15, 2025, the new highest Trainer level in Pokémon GO will be level 80 instead of level 50. You can read more about Pokémon GO: Level 80 is the New Level 50. The XP celebration event prepares Trainers for the level change with massive XP bonuses and exclusive Timed Research.

XP Celebration Event: Bonuses

Trainers playing Pokémon GO between the start and the end of the event will have access to the following bonuses.

  • 2x Catch XP from Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
  • +3,000 XP from winning Raids
  • +3,000 XP from winning Max Battles

The good thing is, these bonuses will stack with other event bonuses. This means any event with similar bonuses between Monday, August 25, 2025, and Monday, August 25, 2025 will include the above bonuses as additional bonuses.

XP Celebration Event: Timed Research

The event features a series of Timed Research to help Trainers earn over 7 million XP. However, the Timed Research will only be available to Trainers level 5 and above. It is important to note that the Timed Research will expire on Monday, October 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

Update: The Timed Research takes 50 pages to complete. The only way to complete the research is if you finish 1 page per day. In addition, the research tasks have increasing difficulty with increasing completion. In short, if you are grinding XP, do not depend on these research to earn the XP you need.

Other event-themed features

To help Trainers level up easily during the event period, a level 47 Level-Up Research task will be adjusted. Instead of requiring Trainers to explore 25 km in a week eight times, they will only need to do so twice.

Go ahead and make the best use of this event. All my best wishes!
