Dynamax Drampa Debuts
Drampa and its Shiny variant have been in the Pokémon GO game since February 2024. However, its Dynamax form will make its debut on Monday, January 5, 2026. Both Drampa and Dynamax Drampa are the same. The only differences are their forms and the type of Pokémon that can be used to battle either.
Only the Pokémon that can be used in Dynamax battles can be used to battle Dynamax Drampa in three-star Power Spots.
We will now list Drampa’s relevant information, and the counters for Dynamax Drampa later.
Drampa
It is a Normal and Dragon-type Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, its stats are as follows.
- Weakness: It is weak to Fighting-, Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type attacks.
- Strength: It resists Ghost-, Electric-, Fire-, Grass-, and Water-type attacks.
- Maximum Combat Power (CP): 3294 CP
- Best Attacks: Dragon Breath as a Fast Attack. Fly as a Charged Attack.
- Favorable weather: Drampa’s encounters and attacks are boosted during Partly Cloudy and Windy weather in-game.
- Perfect IVs: a 100% IV Drampa encountered as a raid reward has 1665 CP (during non-boosted weather conditions) or 2081 CP (when weather-boosted). If a perfect Drampa is encountered as a research reward, it will have 1249 CP. Dynamax Drampa encountered as a reward after defeating it in Power Spots will have 1665 CP.
- Size: The smallest (XXS) Drampa has a height of 1.47 m. The tallest (XXL) Drampa has a height of 4.65 m. To win Drampa PokéStop Showcases, enter your Drampa whose height is between 4.5 m and 4.65 m.
Dynamax Drampa Recommended Counters
The best ‘dynamax-able’ or ‘gigantamax-able’ Pokémon you can use to battle Dynamax Drampa successfully are as follows.
- Zamazenta Crowned Shield as a Defender. It should have Ice Fang as a Fast Attack and Behemoth Bash as a Charged Attack.
- Zacian Crowned Sword as a Defender/Attacker. It should have Metal Claw as a Fast Attack and Behemoth Blade as a Charged Attack.
- Gigantamax Machamp as a Attacker. It should have Karate Chop as a Fast Attack and Dynamic Punch as a Charged Attack.
Dynamax Drampa is relatively easy to defeat. You can solo it if you have the above-recommended Pokémon with their max moves and/or Dynamax Cannon Adventure Effect. If not, it can be defeated by at least two Trainers.
It is also important to note that you will want to use Gigantamax Machamp ONLY during the gigantamxing phase. This is because Dynamax Drampa can learn Fly (a Flying-type attack) as a Charged Attack. Fighting-type Pokémon are weak to Flying-type attacks.
Finally, getting Dynamax Drampa is just for filling the PokéDex. There a better Dragon-type Dynamax Pokémon, stat-wise, already in the game. However, if you need the candy for future Mega Drampa, you can battle as many as you reasonable can. If you are, make sure you use only the free daily max particles you can get from Power Spots.
All the best!
