Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres in the Wild: Pokémon 30th Anniversary

The Kanto Legendary Birds – Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres – will be available in the wild during the Pokémon 30th Anniversary event. Trainers will be able to catch many other Pokémon first discovered in the Kanto region (except for Mewtwo and Mew) in the wild.

Encounter Kanto Legendary Birds in the Wild

Starting on Tuesday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Monday, March 9, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. You may encounter any Pokémon first discovered in the Kanto region (except for Mewtwo and Mew) based on their natural habitat, and more! You might even encounter Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, if you’re very lucky! All of these encounters can be Shiny.

However, please note that Pokémon such as Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will continue to appear only in certain regions of the world.

GO Pass: Pokémon 30th Anniversary

The GO Pass for Pokémon 30th Anniversary will be available at the start of the event. All the event bonuses will be available by advancing through the GO Pass (and GO Pass Deluxe).

A Ditto Changeup

Ditto are changing into different Pokémon in the wild during the event!

Raids

The following Pokémon will appear in raids.

  • One-Star Raids: Pikachu wearing Red’s hat and Pikachu wearing Leaf’s hat
  • Three-Star Raids: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise

Field Research Task Encounters

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available! The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks!

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Pikachu
  • Magikarp
  • Eevee

Completing certain Field Research tasks will reward you with Rare Candy, a Silver Pinap Berry, or a Golden Razz Berry.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out

Starting on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Monday, March 9, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you may encounter almost all Pokémon in their natural habitat that have made their Pokémon GO debuts!

Pokémon will appear in specific biomes based on their natural habitat and PokéDex entry. You will need to explore different biomes to encounter many of these Pokémon.

However, please note that this does not include Mythical Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, or certain species of Pokémon that are not normally found in the wild. Likewise, certain Pokémon will continue to be found only in certain regions, or hatch from Eggs. Costumed Pokémon will not appear in the wild. For Pokémon with multiple forms, not all forms will appear in the wild.

Pokémon 30th Anniversary Event Bonuses

Incense activated during the event may lead to encounters with Legendary Pokémon–if you’re very lucky! This means the Incense may spawn Kanto Legendary Birds in the wild. However, wild Pokémon will appear more frequently.

    • Pikachu wearing Dawn’s hat
    • Pikachu wearing Rei’s cap
    • Pikachu wearing Akari’s kerchief
    • Pikachu wearing Hilbert’s hat
    • Pikachu wearing Hilda’s hat
    • Pikachu wearing Nate’s visor
    • Pikachu wearing Rosa’s visor
    • Pikachu wearing Calem’s hat
    • Pikachu wearing Serena’s hat
  • Five-Star Raids:

Eggs

Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Azurill, Wynaut, Budew, Chingling, Bonsly, Mime Jr., Happiny, Munchlax, Riolu, Mantyke, and Toxel will hatch from 2 km Eggs received at the start or during the event.
