The Delightful Days Taken Over features Team GO Rockets taking over some new Pokémon and turning them into their shadow forms. This time, the Team Go Rocket boss will be taking over Giratina (Altered Forme) and turning it into its shadow form. It’s time for trainers to save Shadow Giratina (Altered Forme).
Delightful Days Taken Over Event and Bonuses
The event is on Monday, August 11, 2025. It starts at 12:00 a.m. local time and continues until Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
Trainers taking part in the event will have access to the following event-themed bonuses.
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
- Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.
In addition, for the first time in Pokémon GO, lucky Trainers might hatch Shiny Salandit from 10 km Eggs.
New Shadow Pokémon to save
With the event comes new shadow Pokémon to save. The following are the new shadow Pokémon to look forward to during the Delightful Days Taken Over event.
- Shadow Giratina (Altered Forme) from the Team GO Rocket Boss – Giovanni
There will be a Special Research at the beginning of this event. You can progress through the special research to receive a Super Rocket Radar. The Super Rocket Radar helps to find and battle Giovanni. Upon defeating Giovanni, Trainers will have a guaranteed chance to catch Shadow Giratina (Altered Forme).
Please note, the Special Research needs to be claimed before September 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
- Shadow Staryu, Shadow Fletchling, Shadow Pikipek, and Shadow Grubbin from the Team GO Rocket Grunts
Team GO Rocket has also turned these Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. You will need to defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save them! Specifically, you can get Shadow Staryu from Water-type Grunts, Shadow Fletchling from Fire-type Grunts, Shadow Pikipek from Flying-type Grunts, and Shadow Grubbin from Bug-type Grunts.
Please note, the evolutions of these Pokémon will also have their Shadow forms.
- Team GO Rocket Grunts leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, will also be using different Shadow Pokémon.
Delightful Days Taken Over Shadow Raids
The following Pokémon will appear in Shadow Raids of their respective tiers.
- One-Star Raids: Shadow Bellsprout, Shadow Aipom, Shadow Teddiursa, and Shadow Seedot
- Three-Star Raids: Shadow Girafarig, Shadow Absol, and Shadow Whirlipede
In addition to all the above, there will be event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing the Field Research tasks will reward Trainers with Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Mysterious Components. Furthermore, there will be an event-themed Collection Challenge. You can complete the challenge to earn XP and one Rocket Radar.
