The Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds will make their return to Pokémon GO on Monday, September 21, 2026, during the Max Monday event, starting from 6:00 a.m. local time. They will continue to be available at Power Spots until 9:00 p.m. local time.
Furthermore, the Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds will be available for the rest of the week until Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. local time.
Please note, you cannot engage in Max Battles at any Power Spot between 9:00 p.m. and 5:59 a.m. local time.
Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds Max Monday Bonuses
The following bonuses are available during the Max Monday Max Battles:
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently.
- Additional Power Spots will be active compared to the rest of the week.
- Max Battles will rotate to feature different Dynamax Pokémon.
- Trainers can earn one Rare Candy XL for completing in-person Max Battles.
Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds: Dynamax Articuno Counters
Dynamax Articuno is a dual Ice- and Flying-type Pokémon that is weak to Electric-, Fire-, Rock-, and Steel-type attacks (while taking double-super-effective damage from Rock-type moves).
The following are the recommended counters to have in your battle party:
Defender/Healer: Dynamax Blissey with Pound as a Fast Attack and Wild Charge (or any) as a Charged Attack or Crowned Shield Zamazenta with Metal Claw as a Fast Attack and Behemoth Bash as a Charged Attack
Attacker: Dynamax Omastar with Rock Throw as a Fast Attack and Max Rockfall as its Max Move.
Attacker: Gigantamax Charizard or Gigantamax Cinderace with Fire-type Fast and Charged Attacks
Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds: Dynamax Zapdos Counters
Dynamax Zapdos is a dual Electric- and Flying-type Pokémon that is weak to Ice- and Rock-type attacks.
The following are the recommended counters to have in your battle party:
Defender/Healer: Dynamax Blissey with Pound as a Fast Attack and Wild Charge (or any) as a Charged Attack.
Attacker: Dynamax Gigalith or Dynamax Rhyperior with Smack Down as a Fast Attack and Max Rockfall as a Max Move.
Attacker: Dynamax Articuno with Powder Snow as a Fast Attack and Ancient Power (or any) as a Charged Attack.
Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds: Dynamax Moltres Counters
Dynamax Moltres is a dual Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon that is double weak to Rock-type attacks, while also taking super-effective damage from Water- and Electric-type moves.
The following are the recommended counters to have in your battle party:
Defender/Healer: Dynamax Regirock with Rock Throw as a Fast Attack and Stone Edge as a Charged Attack. Or Dynamax Blissey with Pound as a Fast Attack and Wild Charge (or any) as a Charged Attack.
Attacker: Gigantamax Inteleon with Water Gun as a Fast Attack and Snipe Shot as a Charged Attack. Or Gigantamax Kingler with Bubble as a Fast Attack and Crabhammer as a Charged Attack.
Attacker: Dynamax Omastar or Dynamax Gigalith utilizing Rock-type attacks to capitalize heavily on Moltres’s double weakness.
Recommended Tips for Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds
Max Moves: Level up Max Guard and Max Spirit for your defenders/healers to at least level 2, and prioritize pushing Max Attack to higher levels on your primary Rock, Water, or Ice attackers.
Max Energy: Dodge incoming charged attacks during the regular battle phase to build up your Max Meter quickly without losing key Pokémon.
Battle with Friends: Dynamax Legendary Birds Max Battles can be demanding solo; coordinate with a group of up to 4 trainers to optimize roles (split between attackers, a defender, and a healer).
Dynamax Kanto Legendary Birds Rewards and Perfect CP
You will get rewarded after you complete each Max Battle. For the Dynamax Articuno Max Battle, you will have an encounter with Dynamax Articuno, and so on. If you are lucky, the encounter can be shiny!

The best moveset for Dynamax Moltres is Wing Attack as a Fast Attack and Max Airstream as a Charged Attack.
