Defeating Gigantamax Inteleon

Gigantamax Inteleon’s Weakness

Gigantamax Inteleon is a Water-type Pokémon. It is weak to either Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon with either Electric-, or Grass-type attacks/moves. Thankfully, we have a few great Pokémon in their Dynamax or Gigantamax form that can be used defeat to Gigantamax Inteleon.

In addition, you will be battling Gigantamax Inteleon with other trainers. As long as you get a minimum of 20 Trainers in total for the battle, you are good to go. However, the other trainers need to be using the recommended counters to be able to successfully defeat Gigantamax Inteleon.

Gigantamax Inteleon Recommended Counters

Please note that for Dynamax Pokémon, the Charged Attack you give them is only used before and after their Dynamaxing phase. In their Dynamaxing phase, it is their Fast Attack that determines what Max Attack they use. For Gigantamax Pokémon it is their base type (e.g. Grass-type) that determines what Max Attack is used in their Gigantamaxing phase. So, you essentially give a Grass-type Pokémon a Grass-type Charged Attack.

Whichever, team you go for, make sure you create a battle party with them before going into the Max Battle. Also, you will want to level up their max moves a few days before the Max Battle. The recommended minimum level for the Max Attack, Max Guard, and Max Spirit moves is level 2.

Tips to defeating Gigantamax Inteleon

You will also need to master team position, dodging, charging, and swapping.

  • Team Position: Put your tanker/healer Pokémon in the first (and second spot).
  • Attack Dodging: Pay attention to when Gigantamax Inteleon is “preparing to attack” and start dodging. You can notice this when your Pokémon has a 3-line signal on its head. It can be hard to dodge all the attacks but you ONLY need to dodge each attack once. Also, note that you cannot dodge the “preparing for large attack”.
  • Attack Charging: Rather than charging your Pokémon’s Charge Move/Attack, focus on charging the Max Meter instead. You can do this by tapping on the charging button you will notice on your screen. This helps to charge up the max moves faster.
  • Pokémon Swapping:
    • Swap to your last Pokémon i.e. the ones with the right Max Attack that can do effective damage to Gigantamax Inteleon. You should do this when the Max Meter is about to get full or before your Pokémon dynamaxes or gigantamaxes. In addition, you will want to throw 2 Max Attack and 1 Max Guard or 1 Max Spirit if your attacker is low on health.
    • Swap to your other bulky/tanker Pokémon (the one with fuller health) after you’re done with the max moves.
    • Repeat the two (2) steps above until Gigantamax Inteleon faints. However, make sure you swap either to your bulky/tanker during the transformation phase to heal your Pokémon or your attacker during the transformation phase to keep attacking Gigantamax Inteleon.
  • Cheering: If your battle team dies before the end of the max battle, ensure you cheer the other trainers still in the battle. You will notice a button on your screen that you can keep tapping.

In addition to the above, you will want to do and know the following.

  • The CP for a hundo or perfect Gigantamax Inteleon is 1693 CP.
  • Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon are not weather-boosted. The encounter you get after defeating a Max Battle will be at Pokémon level 20.
  • You currently cannot encounter a Shiny Gigantamax Inteleon.
  • Gigantamax Inteleon is better than the currently released Water-type Gigantamax Pokémon when used as a Water-type Gigantamax Attacker. Check Best Gigantamax Pokémon in Pokémon GO.

All my best wishes as you go about defeating Gigantamax Inteleon.
