The Lechonk Community Day will feature the Hog Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild, in some Field Research tasks, and as encounters after completing some of the event-themed Special Research tasks.
May 2026 Community Day: Lechonk
The May 2026 Community Day is scheduled on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Lechonk, the featured Pokémon during the May 2026 Community Day, will appear more frequently in the wild. In addition, if you’re lucky, you might encounter a (Shiny) Lechonk that has a Special Background. Please note that the Special Background is a yearly Special Background similar to those from the previous 2026 Community Day events.
Featured Attack and Attack Availability
You can evolve (Shiny) Lechonk to its final Evolution and get a (Shiny) Oinkologne (male or female) that knows the Fast Attack Mud-Slap.
Mud-Slap is a Ground-type Charged Attack that deals 19 damage in Gym and Raid battles while costing 13 energy. In the GO Battle League, Mud-Slap deals 11 damage while costing 10 energy. Mud-Slap is super-effective against Poison-, Rock-, Steel-, Fire-, and Electric-type Pokémon.
(Shiny) Oinkologne can learn Mud-Slap via evolution during the event and up to 9:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 9, 2026. After this time, (Shiny) Lechonk may be able to learn Mud-Slap by using an Elite Charged TM.
Hundo (Shiny) Lechonk from Research
Field and Special Research will be available during the May 2026 Community Day. A Lechonk with 314 CP from a Research encounter is a hundo. If shiny, that is a Shundo. Likewise, an Oinkologne (male) with 1118 CP from a Research encounter is a hundo. If shiny, that is a Shundo. An Oinkologne (female) with 1068 CP from a Research encounter is a hundo. If shiny, that is a Shundo.
The following research tasks will reward Lechonk as an encounter when completed.

The following are the most essential tips to make the best out of this community day.
- Mega evolved a Mega Level 3 Normal-type Pokémon: This helps you get additional Candy, Candy XL, and XP when you catch Lechonk. Examples are Mega Pidgeot, Mega Kanghaskan, Mega Lopunny, or Mega Audino.
- Use Palkia’s Spacial Rend Adventure Effect: This increases your Pokémon spawn catch radius. Helping you see more Lechonk spawns.

Shiny Lechonk Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be available from the start of the event at 2:00 p.m. local time to either 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. local time.
2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time bonuses
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract the featured Pokémon.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two, for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.

Please note that Lechonk will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules. Lechonk attracted to regular Lure Modules will still have an increased chance to be Shiny and may have a Special Background.

- Community Ambassador Hosted Events. Check the Community Day map to find Community Ambassador events and local parks where you can play Community Day with other Trainers. You can also search Niantic’s Campfire and find other meetups in your area. Please be really careful about which meetups you join.
- Community Ambassador Check-ins. Attend a meetup hosted by a Community Ambassador. Check into a Community Ambassador event to get Timed Research that leads to additional encounters with Lechonk with a Special Background, as well as other premium item rewards.
