Shadow Kyogre in Shadow Raids arrives in Pokémon GO. Initially, it was only obtainable by using a Super Rocket Radar to find and defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss – Giovanni. Now, Trainers can defeat Shadow Kyogre and have the opportunity to catch it after completing raids.
Shiny Shadow Kyogre
With Shadow Kyogre’s debut in Shadow Raids, Trainers can now encounter Shiny Shadow Kyogre if lucky.
Shadow Kyogre will appear in five-star Shadow Raids from Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Additionally, Trainers will receive one additional Raid Pass from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms each day during the event hours.
Recommended Counters
The following Pokémon are the recommended counters you want to have in your battle team against Shadow Kyogre.
- Mega Sceptile with Bullet Seed as a Fast Attack and Frenzy Plant as a Charged Attack
- Kartana with Razor Leaf as a Fast Attack and Leaf Blade as a Charged Attack
- Shadow Raikou with Thunder Shock as a Fast Attack and Wild Charge as a Charged Attack
- Xurkitree with Thunder Shock as a Fast Attack and Power Whip as a Charged Attack
- Zarude with Vine Whip as a Fast Attack and Power Whip as a Charged Attack
- Zekrom with Charge Beam as a Fast Attack and Fusion Bolt as a Charged Attack
Basically, you need to use Pokémon that can learn either a Grass-type or an Electric-type moves.
