The Tinkatink Community Day will feature the Metalsmith Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild, in some Field Research tasks, and as encounters after completing some of the event-themed Special Research tasks.
April 2026 Community Day: Tinkatink
The April 2026 Community Day is scheduled on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Tinkatink, the featured Pokémon during the April 2026 Community Day, will appear more frequently in the wild. In addition, if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Tinkatink or a (Shiny) Tinkatink that has a Special Background. Please note that the Special Background is a yearly Special Background similar to those from the previous 2026 Community Day events.
Featured Attack and Attack Availability
You can evolve (Shiny) Tinkatink to its final Evolution and get a (Shiny) Tinkaton that knows the Charged Attack Gigaton Hammer.
Gigaton Hammer is a Steel-type Charged Attack that deals 300 damage in Gym and Raid battles while costing 100 energy. In the GO Battle League, Gigaton Hammer deals 130 damage while costing 60 energy. Gigaton Hammer is super-effective against Fairy-, Rock-, and Ice-type Pokémon.
(Shiny) Tinkaton can learn Gigaton Hammer via evolution during the event and up to 9:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, April 11, 2026. After this time, (Shiny) Tinkaton may be able to learn Gigaton Hammer by using an Elite Charged TM.
Hundo (Shiny) Tinkatink from Research
Field and Special Research will be available during the April 2026 Community Day. A Tinkatink with 368 CP from a Research encounter is a hundo. If shiny, that is a Shundo.
The following research tasks will reward Tinkatink as an encounter when completed.

Shiny Tinkatink Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be available from the start of the event at 2:00 p.m. local time to either 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. local time.
2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time bonuses
- 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract the featured Pokémon.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two, for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.

Please note that Tinkatink will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules. Tinkatink attracted to regular Lure Modules will still have an increased chance to be Shiny and may have a Special Background.

You may even find Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Tinkatink that have a Special Background if you’re lucky! The Field Research tasks that reward an encounter with the featured Pokémon that have a Special Background are as follows.

- Catch 5 Pokémon while in a Party
- Community Day Ultra Box. The Community Day Ultra Box will be available on the Pokémon GO Webstore for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). This includes the Community Day Special Research ticket and five Ultra Balls.
- Community Ambassador Hosted Events. Check the Community Day map to find Community Ambassador events and local parks where you can play Community Day with other Trainers. You can also search Niantic’s Campfire and find other meetups in your area. Please be really careful about which meetups you join.
- Community Ambassador Check-ins. Attend a meetup hosted by a Community Ambassador. Check into a Community Ambassador event to get Timed Research that leads to additional encounters with Tinkatink with a Special Background, as well as other premium item rewards.
