Twilight Trails GO Battle League

The Twilight Trails GO Battle League update brings a new perspective to the competitive Pokémon GO landscape. Set to kick off on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), this season brings massive meta-shaking updates, including the historic introduction of Mega-Evolved Pokémon to competitive formats, a full schedule of rotating specialty cups, exclusive avatar items inspired by Paldea’s Montenevera Gym Leader, Ryme, and a sweeping list of move balance changes and additions.

Whether you are aiming for Legend rank or just looking to stack up your Stardust reserves, here is a comprehensive breakdown of everything coming during the Twilight Trails‘ GO Battle League season.

Twilight Trails GO Battle League: Mega Evolution Arrives

For the first time ever, Mega-Evolved Pokémon are officially stepping into the competitive arena. Following the sudden emergence of Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, and Mega Greninja, Scopely Explore is integrating Megas into the GO Battle League starting this season and continuing into the future.

  • Additional Charged Attacks: Beginning with the Mega Finale, certain eligible Mega-Evolved Pokémon will gain access to an additional Charged Attack regardless of their current Mega Level.

  • Temporary CP Scaling: In the near future, the CP of Mega-Evolved Pokémon will automatically and temporarily scale down so they can seamlessly participate in the Great League: Mega Edition and Ultra League: Mega Edition. The CP reduction lasts only for the duration of the match and reverts immediately afterward.

  • Championship Series Debut: In a landmark move for competitive play, Mega-Evolved Pokémon will also be legal for the first time in the Pokémon GO Championship Series at the 2026 Pokémon Latin America International Championships.
