The 10th Anniversary Edition Ultra Unlock edition is dedicated to celebrating a decade of catching, trading, and battling. This massive event runs from Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, July 27, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Here is everything you need to know to make the most of this 10th Anniversary Edition Ultra Unlock celebration.
10th Anniversary Edition Ultra Unlock: Sky-High Catch XP Bonuses
If you want to level up, this is the event to do it. The catch XP multipliers increase every couple of days, culminating in a massive 10× bonus:
Tuesday. July 21 (10:00 a.m. local) to Thursday, July 23 (10:00 a.m. local): 6× XP for catching Pokémon.
Thursday, July 23 (10:00 a.m. local) to Saturday, July 25 (10:00 a.m. local): 8× XP for catching Pokémon.
Saturday, July 25 (10:00 a.m. local) to Monday, July 27 (8:00 p.m. local): 10× XP for catching Pokémon.
How to Maximize the XP Bonuses during the 10th Anniversary Edition Ultra Unlock
To make the most of the scaling catch multipliers, consider these preparation steps:
- Stock up on Lucky Eggs: Activating Lucky Eggs on these days will turn the 6x (8x and 10×) multiplier into a massive 12x (16x and 20×) XP bonus per catch.
- Practice Excellent Throws: Stacking an Excellent Throw bonus with the event multipliers will allow you to earn tens of thousands of XP from a single catch.
- Clear your Item Bag: Ensure you have enough Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls ready so you don’t have to stop catching during peak event hours.
Rotations of First Partner Pokémon
First partner Pokémon from every single generation will appear in the wild on a rotating schedule. If you are lucky, you might even encounter their Shiny versions.
Even better, catching a first partner Pokémon during this event gives it a chance to feature a team-specific Special Background matching Team Mystic, Valor, or Instinct (Note: You must belong to a team to get this bonus).
Tuesday. July 21 (10:00 a.m. local) to Thursday, July 23 (10:00 a.m. local): Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip).
Thursday, July 23 (10:00 a.m. local) to Saturday, July 25 (10:00 a.m. local): Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos starters (Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie).
