Mega Blaziken is a dual Fire- and Fighting-type Pokémon that is vulnerable to Flying-, Ground-, Water-, and Psychic-type attacks. Because of its dual typing, it possesses a notable double-weakness to Flying-type attacks, alongside standard weaknesses to Ground, Water, and Psychic.
Mega Blaziken will be available in Mega Raids from Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. local time. A well-prepared team of high-DPS Flying, Psychic, Ground, or Water-type Pokémon can bring it down efficiently. Bringing the right counters will make all the difference if you are planning to farm Mega Energy, hunt for a shiny, or simply add Mega Blaziken to your collection.
FUN FACT: Mega Blaziken made its debut in Pokémon GO on December 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. local time.

Best Mega Blaziken Counters
The following are the top Pokémon that deal super-effective damage to Mega Blaziken.
| POKÉMON | RECOMMENDED MOVESET |
| Mega Rayquaza | Air Slash as a Fast Attack and Dragon Ascent as a Charged Attack |
| Mega Mewtwo Y | Confusion or Psycho Cut as a Fast Attack and Psystrike as a Charged Attack |
| Primal Kyogre | Waterfall as a Fast Attack and Origin Pulse as a Charged Attack |
| Primal Groudon | Mud Shot as a Fast Attack and Precipice Blades as a Charged Attack |
| Mega Mewtwo X | Psycho Cut as a Fast Attack and Psystrike as a Charged Attack |
| Shadow Mewtwo | Psycho Cut as a Fast Attack and Psystrike as a Charged Attack |
| Rayquaza | Air Slash as a Fast Attack and Dragon Ascent as a Charged Attack |
| Mega Swampert | Water Gun or Mud Shot as a Fast Attack and Hydro Cannon or Earth Power as a Charged Attack |
| Mega Garchomp | Mud Shot as a Fast Attack and Earth Power as a Charged Attack |
| Mega Alakazam | Psycho Cut as a Fast Attack and Psychic as a Charged Attack |
Note that Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon/Kyogre remain among the strongest overall Mega Blaziken raid attackers thanks to their exceptional damage output and weather-boost support for teammates. Likewise, you can only use one Mega or Primal Pokémon per lobby. If you are looking to get more Blaziken Candy, use Primal Groudon.
Best Mega Blaziken Budget Counters
Not everyone currently has access to high-tier Shadow Pokémon or Primal/Mega legendaries. Fortunately, Mega Blaziken’s weaknesses make it accessible with strong non-legendary options. Excellent budget choices are as follows:
Rayquaza with Air Slash as a Fast Attack and Aerial Ace or Outrage as a Charged Attack.
Swampert with Water Gun as a Fast Attack and Hydro Cannon or Surf as a Charged Attack.
Alakazam with Psycho Cut or Confusion as a Fast Attack and Psychic as a Charged Attack.
Espeon with Confusion as a Fast Attack and Psychic as a Charged Attack.
Staraptor with Gust as a Fast Attack and Brave Bird as a Charged Attack.
Rhyperior with Mud-Slap as a Fast Attack and Earthquake as a Charged Attack.
Mega Blaziken Raid Tips
Having the best counters may not be enough. You also need a good strategy. The following tips will help you a great deal:
Lead with a Mega Flying, Psychic, Water, or Ground Pokémon to boost teammates’ corresponding attacks.
Coordinate Mega Evolutions with your raid group for maximum efficiency.
Use Pokémon with matching Fast and Charged Moves (e.g., full Flying or full Psychic sets).
Revive and rejoin if necessary rather than using weaker backup teams.
If you can, battle Mega Blaziken during Windy (boosts Flying and Psychic), Sunny (boosts Ground), or Rainy (boosts Water) weather conditions in-game for an extra damage edge.
How Many Trainers are Needed?
Due to Mega Blaziken’s double weakness to Flying-type attacks, it is much less bulky than other Mega Raid bosses. In ideal conditions with top-tier counters, it can even be defeated solo. However, for most trainers, 2 to 4 prepared players with strong optimal counters will comfortably defeat Mega Blaziken. Lower-level trainers or those relying on budget counters will want a group of 4 to 6 players.
Hundo CP for Blaziken from Raids
You will get rewards such as Blaziken Mega Energy, other items, and an encounter with regular Blaziken after completing the Mega Raid successfully.
The hundo CP (i.e., the perfect IV CP) for Blaziken caught from raids depends on the in-game weather condition when it was caught:
If caught during Sunny (boosts Fire) or Cloudy (boosts Fighting) weather conditions, the hundo CP is 2034 CP.
Otherwise, the standard hundo CP (Level 20) is 1627 CP.
If you get a good one, teach it Fire Spin as a Fast Attack and Blast Burn as a Charged Attack for its Fire-type role, or Counter and Aura Sphere for its Fighting-type role
