The Flying Taxi event features the debut of the Parrot Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Squawkabilly is a Normal- and Flying-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Paldea Region. Additionally, it has four different forms (Yellow, White, Green, and Blue).
Squawkabilly Forms
- Yellow Plumage Squawkabilly and White Plumage Squawkabilly will appear globally.
- Green Plumage Squawkabilly will appear in the Eastern Hemisphere.
- Blue Plumage Squawkabilly will appear in the Western Hemisphere.
Flying Taxi event details
The event is scheduled on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. It will continue until Monday, June 29, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During the event, you may encounter some event-themed Flying-type Pokémon in the wild. These are Squawkabilly, Hoothoot, Rookidee, Pikipek, Wattrel, and more.
Remember to use Mega Level 3 Flying-type Pokémon (e.g., Mega Pidgeot, Mega Dragonite, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Aerodactyl, etc) to get more candy when catching Squawkabilly in the wild.
Furthermore, Flying-type Pokémon such as Squawkabilly, Spearow, Hoothoot, Rookidee, and Wattrel will be available as Field Research task encounters.
Flying Taxi event Field Research Tasks
The following Field Research tasks and encounters are available during the event.
- Catch 5 Flying-type Pokémon to encounter Squawkabilly.
- Catch 10 Flying-type Pokémon to encounter Squawkabilly.
- Evolve 3 Flying-type Pokémon to encounter either Spearow or Wattrel.
- Power up Flying-type Pokémon 5 times to encounter either Hoothoot or Rookidee.
The hundo CP for these Research encounters are as follows.
- Squawkabilly: 845 CP
- Spearow: 342 CP
- Wattrel: 354 CP
- Hoothoot: 290 CP
- Rookidee: 285 CP

Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Flying Taxi on Tuesday, June 23, at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe for more Pokémon encounters and rewards.
You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, June 29, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Additionally, from Saturday, June 27, at 12:00 a.m. to Monday, June 29, at 7:59 p.m. local time, there’s no daily limit for how many GO Points you can earn. Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Wednesday, July 1, at 7:59 p.m. local time.

Squawkabilly Meta Analysis: Is It Good in PvP or PvE?
With Squawkabilly making its colorful debut, many competitive trainers are wondering if it’s worth investing Stardust and Candy into this new Paldean addition.
PvP Battle League Review
Unfortunately, Squawkabilly doesn’t make much of a splash in the GO Battle League meta.
- Great League: Running a standard Flying-type moveset like Air Slash paired with Fly or Brave Bird, it acts as a fragile glass cannon. With a maximum stat profile that leans heavily into Attack rather than bulk, it is easily outclassed by existing Normal/Flying giants like Noctowl, Pidgeot, and Skarmory.
- Ultra & Master League: Squawkabilly does not evolve, and its maximum Combat Power caps out at a low 2,231 CP at Level 50. This renders it completely unviable for the higher leagues.
PvE Raids & Gyms Review
In PvE content, Squawkabilly suffers the same fate. Its base Attack stat isn’t high enough to compete with elite Flying-type raid attackers like Rayquaza, Yveltal, or Staraptor.
The Verdict: Treat Squawkabilly as a collection-focused release. Your primary goal during the Flying Taxi event should be securing its various regional plumage variants (Yellow, White, Green, and Blue) for your Pokédex completion rather than building a competitive battler.
