In-Person Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Zeraora, Mewtwo, and more

The In-Person Pokémon GO Fest 2026 will be held in three different countries – Japan, the USA, and Denmark. Trainers worldwide may participate in these events. However, you will need to be in these countries to experience the in-person GO Fest 2026. The Global Pokémon GO Fest 2026 will be available for everyone after these in-person events.

In-Person Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Zeraora

Ticket-holding Trainers attending the in-person GO Fest 2026 will be the first to discover Zeraora, a Mythical Pokémon, as it makes its debut in Pokémon GO! These Trainers will conduct a Special Research that leads to an encounter with Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon.

Please note that ticket-holding Trainers can only encounter Zeraora once, no matter how many Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Special Research stories they acquire and complete. If you obtain more than one Special Research story that leads to Zeraora by attending multiple GO Fest park session events, all of the Special Research stories after the first one will award Zeraora Candy instead of an additional encounter with Zeraora.

In-Person Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mewtwo

Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokémon, will be available in raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2026. It will appear in citywide five-star Raid Battles throughout the course of the event.

All Mewtwo caught by ticket holders during GO Fest: 2026 Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen gameplay days will have Fast Attack Counter and Charged Attack Psystrike regardless of their ticketed day for the event.

Furthermore, different legendary Pokémon will be available in raids, depending on the location of the in-person GO Fest 2026. These are as follows (in addition to Mewtwo).

Trainers without an active Pokémon GO Fest 2026 ticket, Citywide Gameplay add-on, or City Explorer Pass can participate in these raids, but the encounters they catch won’t have a Location Background or Special Background.

In-Person GO Fest Super Mega Raids

Ticket-holding in-person Pokémon GO Fest attendees will be able to join a Super Mega Raid at the end of their ticketed park session. For the last thirty minutes of the Park Experience, new Gyms will appear that allow over one thousand Trainers to take on Mega Mewtwo together.

How to Participate

Trainers will be assigned to the Gyms that will be communicated in advance. Please be sure to review the information provided in advance before participating.

At the beginning of your park session, you will see a star-shaped mark on the in-game map that indicates your assigned Super Mega Raid area.

Additional details, including participation instructions and how to confirm your designated area, will be shared with Trainers who hold Park Experience tickets via email at a later date.

Mewtwo caught from the Super Mega Raids will have a Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Location Background and have at least the first Mega Level unlocked!

Mewtwo’s Mega Evolution Energy

Trainers who attend either in-person GO Fest events can get early access to either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y!

The City Experience in Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen includes branching Timed Research that awards an encounter with Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y with the first Mega Level already unlocked!

Trainers who attend the Park Session can also take on Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y at the end of their park session. More communication about the location within the park will be shared closer to the event.

If a Trainer completes at least two Trainer Challenges, they can choose to encounter either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y with its first Mega Level unlocked.

Starting during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, you’ll be able to collect these rare types of energy by defeating Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raid Battles.

You will need 7,500 Mega Energy for the first-time evolution and then 150 Mega Energy for subsequent mega-evolutions to make either a Max Level Mega Mewtwo. You will then need an additional 5,000 Mega Energy to get a Super Mega Mewtwo X or Super Mega Mewtwo Y.

The Mega Energy cap for Mewtwo is 50,000 Mega Energy. You can also walk a Mewtwo you have Mega-evolved to get 100 Mega Energy whenever you get candy from walking Mewtwo.

Shiny Wash Rotom debuts in Pokémon GO

Lucky Trainers may encounter Shiny Wash Rotom for the first time at the in-person GO Fest events in 2026. Keep an eye out for event communications and park signage to learn how Wash Rotom will appear during your session.

Paldean Tauros at Different in-person GO Fest 2026 locations

Paldea Tauros will make appearances across all three in-person GO Fest events, with each city highlighting a different breed in raids.

Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros will appear in three-star raids in Tokyo and throughout Tokyo Waterfront City. This Paldean Tauros is normally found in the Western Hemisphere.
Combat Breed Paldean Tauros will appear in three-star raids in Copenhagen and Fælledparken. Combat Breed Paldean Tauros is normally found on the Iberian Peninsula, including Spain and Portugal
Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros will appear in three-star raids in Chicago and Grant Park. Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros is normally found in the Eastern Hemisphere

Note that only Trainers with a ticket to Pokémon GO Fest 2026 may encounter the Shiny versions of these Paldean Tauros forms.

Comfey makes its appearance in a different habitat

Comfey, normally found in Hawaii, will appear at all three in-person GO Fest 2026 events. It will appear in the wild during both park sessions and eligible citywide gameplay.

Likewise, event-themed Pokémon will appear in the wild throughout your park session and during your ticketed citywide gameplay hours (including Citywide Gameplay add-ons and City Explorer tickets).

Timed Research and Trainer Challenges

During both park and citywide gameplay, Trainers will receive Timed Research. These are as follows.

Park Gameplay
- Special Research to investigate the recent discovery of a new Pokémon species, Zeraora.
- Four skill-based Zones throughout the host Park for Trainers to explore, complete Research, and lots more.
  - Recruitment Zone: focused on Raids and PVP Battles
  - Conservatory Zone: focused on Pokémon species
  - Cultivation Zone: focused on Eggs and incubator effectiveness
  - Time GO Rocket’s Hideout: focused on Rocket Battles and Shadow Raids
- Timed Research each hour based on which Zone you are in
- Conclude your Park session with a massive Trainer Raid to battle Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y. These raids will only be available at some selected Gyms, not random Gyms.
Citywide Gameplay
- Opportunity to earn your Pokémon GO Expert medal by completing challenges in four different areas of the host city, City Districts

In-Person Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Bonuses and Features

Trainer Challenges: four Timed Research challenges focused on different zones of the host city. Complete at least two Trainer Challenges to complete the Pokémon GO Expert Timed Research and receive your Pokémon GO Expert medal. Each Trainer Challenge will also award Trainers a special medal. All four Trainer Challenges can be completed, if Trainers so choose.
- Ticketed Trainers will receive one set of Timed Research and can complete the Timed Research.

During Ticketed Citywide Gameplay Days

The following bonuses and rewards will be active anywhere at the different n-person GO Fest locations on your ticketed day during event hours: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. local time! These are active for each day you have citywide gameplay (including City Explorer, Base event ticket, or Citywide Gameplay add-on).
